For over the past 20 years, we’ve celebrated the Valley’s best. From the top businesses and professionals to the people who make it all happen, Arizona Foothills Magazine’s annual Best of Our Valley contest recognizes Arizona’s crème de la crème across more than 400 categories. From the best doctors and best resort down to the best cup of coffee you can find around town, each Best of titleholder is chosen by those who know the city best – our readers.

Each week, we’ll be highlighting individual winners from Best of Our Valley 2018, who share their advice, insights and thoughts on what it means to be a part of this exclusive list.

Scottsdale Culinary Festival

The Best of spotlight is on Scottsdale Culinary Festival, who claimed Best Annual Valley Event: Large Scale. Congrats, Scottsdale Culinary Festival (SCF)!

AFM: In a brief 2-3 sentences, please tell us a little bit about Scottsdale Culinary Festival! 
SCF: The Scottsdale Culinary Festival is a two-day celebratory fundraiser, bringing together dozens of restaurants, local bands, breweries, premium drinks, and headline acts to raise money for deserving local arts programs that make a positive impact in the community. The Festival is the largest in a series of multiple culinary events held throughout the year by the Scottsdale League for the Arts, a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated providing support to the arts.

AFM: What does it mean to you to be a Best of Our Valley winner?
It brings us pride to know that the community voted to award us this title! We work long hours hoping that our guests will have a great time at our events, and knowing that the response is positive brings us a great sense of accomplishment.

AFM: What’s your favorite part about being the Best of Our Valley’s Best Annual Valley Event: Large Scale?
SCF: At the Scottsdale Culinary Festival, we celebrate local life and the restaurants that make up the city’s booming culinary scene, and knowing that we are the best at doing so is our favorite part!

AFM: What advice would you give to others to be the “best” in your field?  
SCF: It’s all about the guest experience! Offering a high quality, comfortable event experience is always the most important thing in our planning process.

AFM: Have you seen any benefits as a result of being a BOOV winner?
SCF: We feel this award has brought us more local recognition, and inspires trust in first-time attendees.

AFM: How does your team put their “best” foot forward every day?
SCF: We always keep our goals present; the reason why we put on these events is to create a positive impact in the community, and remembering this helps us move forward with lots of ambition. When we’re in the planning process, we always can’t wait to see our guests having fun while they help us raise money for a good cause.
