$80 Million Ferrari Leads Convoy to Exclusive F1 Movie Preview in Scottsdale

Scottsdale became the epicenter of automotive excitement on June 24, as Scottsdale Ferrari – the only official Ferrari dealer in Arizona – organized a glamorous spectacle: a pre-release screening of the upcoming F1 movie starring Brad Pitt. The cinematic evening was made even more special by a 10-mile Ferrari convoy that dazzled onlookers along its route to Harkins CineCapri at Scottsdale 101 Shopping Center.

At the front of the parade was none other than a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, widely considered one of the most valuable cars in the world, worth an estimated $80 million. With only 36 ever produced, the GTO’s appearance was significant in its own right, as it led a pack of around 75 vintage and modern Ferraris.

Directly behind the GTO was Ferrari’s latest hypercar, the SP3, valued at over $5 million. Also among the lineup were ultra-rare models including a 1967 Ferrari 500 Superfast – one of just 33 in existence – a 1966 275 GTB, a LaFerrari, and Ferrari’s newest release, the 12Cilindri. These vehicles, all sourced from private collections, are seldom seen by the public and turned the city streets into a rolling museum of automotive history.

“Dyan and I enjoyed taking our 1966 Ferrari Superfast to the movie premiere. The car performed well and the movie was great. Thanks to Scottsdale Ferrari for setting up this event,” attendee George F. Getz said.

The excitement didn’t end on the road—upon arrival, a section of the theater’s parking lot was transformed into an impromptu car show. Moviegoers and shoppers were treated to an up-close look at these iconic machines.

Harley Cluxton, a longtime automotive industry veteran and racing figure, reflected on the moment: “I’ve been in the automobile business in Scottsdale for the past 52 years and been involved in racing all my life, at every level, including winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans as a Team Owner. But having been fourth in line of 75+ Ferraris being led up Scottsdale Road, behind an $80M 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Racing Icon, still takes my breath away!”

From the thunderous sounds of Italian engines to the anticipation of a high-octane Hollywood film, the event was a dream come true for Ferrari enthusiasts and movie lovers – a night when art, speed, and history collided on the streets of Scottsdale. Learn more at scottsdaleferrari.com.
