Dare To Wear Leather This Summer

In Arizona, the idea of wearing leather during the warmer months is quite distasteful. Who would dare wear the same material that nearly burns the skin off your thighs when you sit down in your car after leaving it in the parking lot for mere minutes? Well, surprisingly, we would. But honestly, who wouldn’t after seeing Karlie Kloss in her red hot Jason Wu leather dress at the Target FEED dinner.

With Kloss as inspiration, we searched our favorite online shops to find triple digit (temperature that is) friendly leather pieces to ensure a sizzling summer that won’t result in third-degree burns.

Stay cool while looking extra hot in these Alice + Olivia leather ‘Cady Cuff’ shorts. The army green color is unique and we think it makes for a more sophisticated look. Plus it will easily transition into fall and winter with opaque leggings and a great pair of booties or boots.

Okay, so this one doesn’t quite count as it is a ‘Leather-Look’ crop top from Topshop, but we think it is just too fun to pass up. And lighter colored clothes generally keep you cooler (especially if it isn’t really leather).

This Rebecca Taylor skirt is cut from pure leather and it provides a pretty silhouette. The added flair will keep you cooler than a tight pencil skirt. We also think it might look a smidge edgier if you combine it with the Topshop crop top!

We always think of Free People as the “cool girl” store with their flowing maxis, destroyed denim, crochet bathing suits, and ponchos (how do these girls look good in a poncho?!) and now their leather fringe vests… This is undoubtedly the coolest (we love double entendres) to wear leather this season.
