Your Fashion Roundup

It’s August! So what does that mean? No I’m not going to say fall fashion again… It is time for our favorite magazine issue of the year—The September Issue (and please do see the movie if you haven’t already). Yes, our beloved glossies continue to out do themselves with some issues reaching nearly 1000 pages (can you say poor mail men) of fall fashion to die for, fall fashion must-haves, and fall fashion I can’t have but want really, really bad.

Fashionista.com was so kind as to share the covers of more than 30 September magazine covers. And I have to say they are all pretty darn good. Among the faves are Katy Perry for Elle, loving the sleek purple hair and smoky eyes, Victoria Beckham on Glamour’s Fashion Issue, posh in a bubble bath wearing a tiara says it all, and of course the flawless Gwen Stefani on Harper’s Bazaar wearing what I’m pretty sure is an Alexis Mabille flower on her head.

Though visually appealing (at least I think it is?) Lady Gaga’s Vogue cover is about as odd as you would expect. Except it isn’t really Gaga that makes it odd, as one might surmise, the shape of the dress combined with the struck-by-lightening hair makes Gaga look unnaturally tall and as if she only has one leg. I will admit that I am loving the natural look of the makeup. What are your thoughts on the cover choice?

In other news Jennifer Lopez has quickly bounced back from her exit from American Idol and is launching a new limited edition luxury T-shirt line called Teeology. Lopez has put together a team of “curators” including fashion designer Erica Zohar and Hudson Founder Peter Kim.

The online members-only site works kind of like American Idol or X Factor, and perhaps that is where Lopez got the idea for having Teeology members vote on tees, which ultimately get made and shipped (for free) to the happy voters. My guess is the democratic shopping experience will do well with a name like J.Lo behind it.

More from the September Issue buzz, Amanda Kerr, yes your favorite Victoria Secret model, wears nothing but designer boots for Harper’s Bazaar. The nude shots were photographed by none other than Terry Richardson. So where does Kerr’s confidence come from? Well, from eating lots of vegetables, wearing strong empowering boots, and berries. I’ll be taking a trip to the Farmer’s Market this weekend for sure!
