One of Arizona’s most anticipated annual celebrations is getting a flavorful new addition this year, thanks to a special collaboration between Local First Arizona and O.H.S.O. Brewery + Distillery. Just in time for the 2025 Arizona Fall Fest, the two community-focused organizations have teamed up to create a new limited-edition beer made with locally sourced ingredients and crafted with Arizona pride.
The beer, fittingly named Sonoran Sipper, will officially debut on October 25 at all O.H.S.O. locations and make its festival appearance at the Arizona Fall Fest on November 8 at Margaret T. Hance Park.
The Fall Fest is a family-friendly event celebrating all things Arizona. Featuring over 250 local vendors, the festival will showcase everything from handcrafted goods and live entertainment to interactive activities and a food and beverage court packed with more than 70 local restaurants, breweries, and distilleries.
A standout addition to this year’s offerings, the Sonoran Sipper is a cream ale infused with hibiscus and lime zest, made with a variety of ingredients sourced directly from Arizona farms and food producers. Malted barley for the brew comes from Sossaman Farms in Queen Creek, a multi-generational farm that now processes malt on-site at Homestead Malting, allowing brewers like O.H.S.O. to take beer from seed to stein without leaving the Valley.
The magenta hibiscus, one of the brew’s key flavor notes, is provided by Shamba AZ, a North Phoenix urban farm. The connection between growers and brewers was made possible by Sun Produce Specialties, a seasoned local distributor committed to supporting sustainable agriculture.
The launch is more than just a celebration of Arizona flavor. Through O.H.S.O.’s “Give Back” campaign, 100 percent of Sonoran Sipper sales at the Arizona Fall Fest will be donated to Local First Arizona. A portion of the proceeds from a release party at O.H.S.O. Sunnyslope on October 23 will also benefit the organization.
For Kimber Lanning, founder and CEO of Local First Arizona, this project represents a powerful symbol of local unity: “Local First’s collaboration with O.H.S.O. is a testament to the community spirit of the craft beer industry here in Arizona,” Lanning said. “By sourcing local ingredients, we created something that reflects the best of Arizona and we’re excited to share this innovative brew with the state.”
Jon Lane, owner of O.H.S.O. Brewery + Distillery, echoed that sentiment. “This collaboration is about more than just a great beer. It’s about supporting a cause that is vital to our community. A portion of the proceeds from Sonoran Sipper will help to build a stronger and more inclusive economy in Arizona, and we are honored to use our craft to give back.” For more information, visit localfirstaz.com.
