A new creative pipeline is taking shape in Phoenix as Co-Media, an independent film and television media company, partners with Phoenix Center for the Arts to launch the Storytelling Co-hort: a 12-week immersive program aimed at developing emerging voices in film, television and media production.

The initiative is designed as a hands-on incubator where participants can move from learning to creating to producing original work, all within a structured, community-driven environment. Rooted in a shared mission to expand access to arts education and creative opportunity, the partnership brings together Co-Media’s focus on building a sustainable storytelling ecosystem with Phoenix Center for the Arts’ commitment to education, programming and cultural advocacy.

“Storytelling has always been at the heart of Phoenix. Across our city, artists are weaving narratives that honor our cultures, our histories, and the experiences that shape us. At Phoenix Center for the Arts, we’re proud to stand alongside the many creators and organizations already nurturing this work,” Angelique Kane, Executive Director for the Phoenix Center for the Arts, said. “Our partnership with Co-Media builds on that shared momentum. Together, we’re creating another space where emerging storytellers can grow, uplift one another, and add their voices to the creative landscape of our community.”

The Storytelling Co-hort will function as a 12-week intensive incubator, giving participants the opportunity to develop and produce original projects as part of an ongoing Co-Media anthology series. In addition to production work, the program will include workshops across multiple storytelling disciplines, internship opportunities, and events such as screenings, showcases, festivals, and speaker series.
Beyond training individual creators, the partnership aims to establish a place for storytelling collaboration in Phoenix. Both organizations emphasize that the program is intended not only to build creative skills but also to strengthen the city’s broader film and television ecosystem. Learn more at co-media.webflow.io.
