Downtown Phoenix is about to get a little tipsy as Drunk Romeo & Juliet makes its highly anticipated return for a limited engagement through May 9, 2026. The Drunk Shakespeare Society brings a chaotic, hilarious spin to Shakespeare’s most iconic love story, delivering romance on the rocks, sword fights with swagger, and tragedy turned into side-splitting comedy.

The show features one professional actor who downs more than five shots of alcohol before diving headfirst into the world of star-crossed lovers, ensuring no two performances are ever the same. Epic poetry meets pop culture references and unpredictable comedy, making the show fun for aficionados and first-timers.

Performances are held at The Rose Theatre, with shows running Wednesday through Sunday at various times. Guests can opt for the $500 Royal Experience for two, which includes a hand-carved throne, champagne, handcrafted cocktails, treats, and the chance to influence the performance.

A New York Times Critics’ Pick, Drunk Shakespeare has performed over 1,000 shows across America, making it the company with the most Shakespeare performances in the country.
Inside an intimate, hidden library speakeasy lined with more than 10,000 real books, audiences can sip craft cocktails while watching the intoxicated actor bring Shakespeare’s timeless characters to life in under 90 minutes…no prior Shakespeare knowledge required. Learn more at drunkshakespeare.com.
