Back again for the second year in a row at Desert Ridge Marketplace, Foley Ranch’s highly anticipated Rising Star Vocal Competition is officially underway, and the search is on for the next breakout country music star to earn the title of 2025 Rising Star.
Open to performers of all ages, this lively, community-driven competition offers a platform for talent to shine and the chance to win an exciting prize package along with the coveted 2025 Rising Star Award.
Foley Ranch is a locally owned restaurant known for its high-energy atmosphere, live country music, and signature smokehouse barbecue bringing great food, great music, and great people together under one roof.
“We are excited to present the Rising Star Vocal Competition for aspiring country singers,” Owner Don Talbot said. “There were so many incredible artists who participated in last year’s inaugural competition and we can’t wait to showcase all the amazing singers to hit the Foley Ranch stage. Live music is an important part of the experience, and we are so excited to be a part of finding the next generation of talent.”
Here’s the lowdown
The competition kicked off on May 20 and takes place every Tuesday at 6 p.m., leading up to the championship finale on July 15.
Over nine weeks, the contest will showcase a mix of soloists and duets. The first six weeks serve as prelim rounds, followed by two semifinal events before finalists take the stage for one last performance during the championship. With 12 competitors down, the talent is already heating up as the competition heads into its next round.
Each performer sings two country songs on their assigned night: one at 6 p.m. and another after a dance break at 7:30 p.m.– using preapproved music or accompanying themselves on guitar. The competition emphasizes both talent and community, with feedback and votes coming from judges and a live audience.
