Arizona’s Largest Cinco de Mayo Festival is Returning to Phoenix

The 2024 Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival returns to downtown Phoenix with live entertainment, food, drinks and activities for the whole family on Sunday, May 5 from noon to 10 p.m.

The Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival is celebrating its 31st anniversary this year as Arizona’s largest Cinco de Mayo festival and the longest-running festival in downtown Phoenix. This year, guests can look forward to hearing live music from headliners Big Mountain and WAR as well as local entertainers Las Calakas and Znora. 

The festival will feature continuous live music on two stages, both on 5th Ave. and Washington. Celebrate the Battle of Puebla and Mexico’s victory over France in 1862 with music; lucha libre, a style of professional wrestling originating from Mexico; ballet folklorico, a type of dance that expresses the life and spirit of people through movement and music; mariachi serenades; a free Kids Zone with games; give away, traditional Mexican food; margaritas and more. 

During the festival, scholarships will be given to current and college-bound students. Grand Canyon University Scholarship Foundation has partnered with Arvizu Charities, the foundation of the family that has presented the Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival since its inception, to award educational scholarships. 

“Since 2000, Arvizu Advertising and Grand Canyon University have partnered to raise funds to offer scholarships for Hispanic high school students. Arvizu Scholarships has raised over $750,000 to provide financial aid to Minority Students to help them further their education. Arvizu Scholarships is proud to have touched the lives of 520 students!” according to the Cinco de Mayo Phoenix Festival website.

Enter the festival at 1st Ave. and Washington when gates open at noon. The local bands will begin playing at 12:30 p.m., and the national bands will start their sets at 5:30 p.m. General admissions tickets start at $10 and children 10 and under are free with paid adult admission. The early bird gets the worm, so take advantage of the $5 general admission price before 5 p.m. at the gate. Ticket prices go up to $10 after 5 p.m.
