The Arcadian is partnering with the Arizona Housing Fund to help address homelessness across the state. The developer of the luxury townhome community, Geneva Holdings, has committed to donating $100 for every home sold, transforming each transaction into an opportunity to give back.
The Arizona Housing Fund, founded in 2019 by Howard Epstein, is a private philanthropic initiative that funds permanent, supportive housing for Arizonans experiencing homelessness. Since its inception, the organization has raised $2.6 million and distributed $1.9 million in grants to 11 nonprofit housing projects statewide. Those efforts have already helped provide homes for more than 500 individuals transitioning out of homelessness.
“I was inspired by the PetSmart Charities cash register roundup program that has raised millions for pet charities,” Epstein said. “Our goal is to fund much-needed permanent, supportive housing programs for those experiencing homelessness in our state.”
At the heart of the fund’s success is its Escrow Donation Program, a voluntary initiative that allows homebuilders, real estate professionals, and buyers and sellers to contribute $25 or more at the close of escrow. It’s a simple model, one that continues to gain traction as more industry partners recognize the role they can play in addressing housing insecurity.
