YouthWorks Presents “Robin Hood and His Merry Men”

TheaterWorks continues its 2018/19 season with the YouthWorks production “Robin Hood and His Merry Men” opening Jan. 11 on the Gyder Stage of the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. See the familiar tale of the heroic outlaw presented in a unique new way. There are shows slated through Jan. 27. Single tickets are $16.

Tween/Teen Night Every at AZ Air Time

From 8 to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, all tweens and teens, ages 12 and up, are invited to AZ Air Time trampoline park in Scottsdale to enjoy exciting dodgeball tournaments, dancing contests and jumping on the indoor trampolines and into foam pits. This supervised nighttime play is perfect for parents who are looking for a safe, indoor place for their older kids to spend time on  weekend evenings. Cost is $15 for three hours.

ACE Comic Con

All weekend long, ACE Comic Con welcomes celebrities, comic creators, exhibitors, vendors and more to Gila River Arena. The convention makes way for the likes of Tom Hiddleston, Michael Fassbender, David Tennant, Krysten Ritter, Charlie Cox and many other comic-book personalities, along with WWE stars. General admission tickets are available; photo ops, autographs and VIP packages may also be purchased for an additional fee.

The Electric Guitar: Inventing an American Icon at Musical Instrument Museum

Musical Instrument Museum has welcomed an exclusive new exhibition that is an ode to the instrument that revolutionized music—and pop culture, as a whole. The Electric Guitar: Inventing an American Icon spotlights more than 80 of the rarest electric guitars and amplifiers in the world, including the instruments of rock royalty, like Pete Townshend and Bo Diddley. This exciting exhibition is on display through Sept. 15. In addition to admission to MIM, tickets to The Electric Guitar: Inventing an American Icon are $7 ($10 for special exhibition only).

Electric Desert at Desert Botanical Garden

Through May 12, check out the desert as it's drenched in light and sound in a mesmerizing display like never before with Klip Collective’s Electric Desert at Desert Botanical Garden. The cactus and desert become a living canvas during this limited-time nighttime experience. Ticket prices vary.

OdySea in the Desert’s Artisan Fest

OdySea in the Desert’s Artisan Fest in Scottsdale continues featuring a celebration of arts every second and fourth Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free event features nearly 50 of the top local artists, designers and creators in the state along with a kids’ art zone, live music, yoga classes, live cooking and juicing demonstrations, live art and performances.

This annual event is a family and Valley tradition that happens to be one of the largest light shows in the Southwest—and it ends this weekend for the season. Millions of lights are showcased throughout Phoenix Zoo as visitors admire the sights while savoring hot chocolate and kettle corn under the stars. (Don’t miss the scene-stealing musical trees!) A couple new additions this year include live reindeer and a 200-ft.-long Polar Slide. This holiday classic is running through Jan. 13, 5:30 to 10:30 p.m., every night.

Cosmic Playground at Arizona Science Center

It’s your last chance to visit! Arizona Science Center inspires and delights creators, climbers and space-lovers of all ages with its limited-time Cosmic Playground experience through Jan. 13. Guests can climb, slide and explore the galaxy in a unique all-ages play space made almost entirely of household packing tape, and participate in an array of space-themed activities while immersed in cosmic light, sound and motion. Cosmic Playground is a shoe-free environment. Guests must wear clean socks or purchase a pair at the center for $1 (while supplies last). The experience is ADA accessible.

AZ on the Rocks Celebrates 15 years

AZ on the Rocks in Scottsdale is celebrating its 15th year anniversary by inviting the public (all ages are welcome) to climb and free fall at no cost. The indoor climbing gym will be open to the public on Sunday, Jan.  13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and anyone can come enjoy the facility whether you are a first timer or experienced climber. There will also be a raffle and food trucks.
