It’s springtime and the best part about this time of year is simply enjoying the outdoors\u2026 that is until it gets too hot to handle. One of the best outdoor events to experience is the annual Movies in the Park Series at Biltmore Fashion Park running every Friday through the month of April. Why pay the ten bucks to sit inside a stuffy theatre on a beautiful Friday night with Movies in the Park going on? You got me.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The series that only requires a blanket and a loved one has become a Valley tradition that brings in around 500 people to watch the featured flick. This year’s lineup includes “Roman Holiday,” “Dr. No,” “Cabaret” and “Planet of the Apes.”<\/p>\n

“It’s a cozy and intimate parklike setting here,” said Kate Birchler, senior marketing manager for Westcor, which owns the mall. “When you think about New York, the Bryant Park movie series comes to mind the same way in Phoenix, where people think of Biltmore Fashion Park.”<\/p>\n

The free movie, which begins at 7:30 p.m., has people laying out their lawn chairs and setting up a plethora of snacks for their outdoor experience. Just a heads up, people show up as early as 5:30 p.m. to grab a their spot on the lawn.<\/p>\n

While families are welcome, the movies are geared toward an adult audience, as all the films are shown in their unedited versions.<\/p>\n

California Pizza Kitchen nearby is always a nice addition to your outdoor movie.<\/p>\n

“A lot of younger people who are 20 to 30, and families, come in here and like to order take-out and bring it back with them to their blankets, or we sometimes walk over orders to them as well,” said Manager Ryan Rochester according to The Arizona Republic.<\/em><\/p>\n

Guests are invited to bring their pets, and the Arizona Humane Society is on site each week.<\/p>\n
