Studies have shown that this sugar substitute, found in processed foods and beverages, contributes to weight gain and may be a major cause of obesity in the US. Many soft drinks, yogurts, industrial breads, cookies, salad dressings and tomato soups contain what critics call \u201ca toxic chemical concoction.\u201d I\u2019ve listed some popular foods that contain HFCS. You\u2019ll be shocked at what you thought was \u201cheart healthy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Some Items Containing HFCS:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yoplait Yogurt<\/li>\n<li>Special K<\/li>\n<li>Nabisco Wheat Thins<\/li>\n<li>Coca-Cola and Pepsi<\/li>\n<li>Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice<\/li>\n<li>Starbucks\u2019 Frappuccino<\/li>\n<li>Thomas English Muffins<\/li>\n<li>Kellogg\u2019s Raisin Bran and Corn Flakes<\/li>\n<li>Heinz Ketchup<\/li>\n<li>Miracle Whip<\/li>\n<li>Wishbone Ranch Dressing and Classic Caesar<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.accidentalhedonist.com\/index.php\/2005\/06\/09\/foods_and_products_containing_high_fruct\">More<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Partially Hydrogenated Oil (Trans Fat)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no controversy over whether partially hydrogenated oils, which are, in short, trans fats, are unhealthy for us. In fact, they are so unhealthy that certain states have completely banned the sale of them.<\/p>\n<p><em>Some Items Containing Trans Fat:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bisquick Cake Mixes<\/li>\n<li>Ramen Noodles<\/li>\n<li>Girl Scout Cookies<\/li>\n<li>Pop Secret Popcorn<\/li>\n<li>French Fries<\/li>\n<li>Quaker Oats Chewy Granola Bars<\/li>\n<li>Saltine Crackers<\/li>\n<li>Nabisco Fig Newtons<\/li>\n<li>Ritz Crackers<\/li>\n<li>Fortune Cookies<\/li>\n<li>Margarine<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sodium Nitrate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many processed foods contain the preservative Sodium Nitrite, NaNO2, especially canned meats. This additive, which is also found naturally, helps prevent certain bacteria from forming. In other words, it helps keep our meats looking deliciously pink. However, this convenient ingredient is also linked to a higher risk of cancer. Watch out!<\/p>\n<p><em>Meats that Contain Sodium Nitrate<\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hot Dogs<\/li>\n<li>Sausages<\/li>\n<li>Bologna<\/li>\n<li>Ham<\/li>\n<li>Bacon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Aspartame and Saccharine<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For all you coffee drinkers, this one may be hard to cut out. Aspartame and saccharine are popular artificial sweeteners that have been directly linked to cancer!
