The prestigious Cars & Cigars annual car show returned to Scottsdale for its 20th year in December. This strictly invitation-only show, hosted by Oliver Smith Jeweler<\/a>, features 100 handpicked vehicles from the Phoenix area. The annual event was hosted at Smith\u2019s flagship store in Scottsdale\u2019s Shops at Gainey Village.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2025 show featured a theme focused on classic cars from before 1975. This theme came with some showstopping inclusions like a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO, which is valued at over $70 million \u2013 a car that Enzo Ferrari and racecar driver Luigi Chinetti used to personally vet buyers for \u2013 and a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM, valued at approximately $40 million.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other featured vehicles included exceptional vintage models: a 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC and 1972 Daytona; 1965 Lamborghini 350 GT and1972 Miura; 1960 Aston Martin DB4GT and 1967 DB6; matching black Mercedes-Benz 1955 300SL Gullwing and 1957 300 SL Roadster; 1952 Jaguar C-Type and 1967 E-type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The show also featured a French 1906 Sizaire Naudin race car, which was \u201cdriven to the event by the period attired owner, an annual participant with something from his collection of over 100-year-old vehicles.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was judged by three Valley-based racers who are notable in the car enthusiast community: Arie Luyendyk, two-time winner of the Indy 500; Derek Daly, former Formula 1 and Indy car driver and Sebring winner; and Didier Theys, winner of major sports prototype races including Daytona, Sebring, and Spa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The judges concluded that the Best of Show was the 1964 Ferrari 250 LM, a sporty red number sure to turn the head of any car lover in its vicinity. Another 1964 Ferrari 250 LM just sold for $36.3 million at Sotheby\u2019s 2025 Paris auction, proving the value of this classic endurance racing machine.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luyendyk and Daly were also judges at Smith\u2019s 2024 Cars & Cigars event, selecting the Ferrari 500 Superfast as the Best in Show.\u00a0The event included a complimentary lunch and a cigar bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Smith\u2019s annual event makes him well known in Arizona’s high-end car-collecting community, he\u2019s primarily known across the Southwest for his high-end watch and jewelry business in Scottsdale, which he established in 1981.
