When it comes to keeping an organized home, the bathroom can be a battleground. There are toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair ties and devices, deodorant, contact solution, soaps, lotions, etc. And that\u2019s all just the tip of the iceberg once you throw makeup into the mix. The biggest takeaway when it comes to maintaining an orderly bathroom is less is more<\/strong>. This is a longstanding organizational mantra, but it is especially relevant in the bathroom.<\/p>\r\n

Simplifying and downsizing your beauty products will create a calming bathroom environment. The morning is a pivotal time that can make or break the rest of your day. A cluttered space creates extraneous decision-making and causes anxiety. Likewise, that anxiety can invade your nightly routine, which should instead foster relaxing vibes in preparation of a good night\u2019s sleep.<\/p>\r\n

TIDYING UP<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

To begin organizing your bathroom, follow our usual process:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    \r\n
  1. Take everything out of your drawers and cabinets.<\/li>\r\n
  2. Toss or relocate what you don\u2019t need.<\/li>\r\n
  3. Group similar items together.<\/li>\r\n
  4. Measure these groupings and place them back where they make sense for your routine. Then, and only then, should you buy additional products that may be missing. Acrylic containers are perfect for bathrooms because they are easy to clean. You can even stick them in the dishwasher. Additionally, museum gel works great to secure the dividers in each drawer so that they don\u2019t slide around. This final touch makes a big difference in how the drawers feel and function as you open and close it.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

    MAKEUP<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n

    When it comes to makeup, create zones that correspond to your daily beautifying routine. These categories could include eye makeup, foundation, blush, highlighter, etc.<\/p>\r\n

    A simple acrylic holder<\/a> is ideal for keeping makeup and makeup brushes looking neat and tidy. Use smaller dividers in drawers to hold similar sized items. For larger items that won\u2019t easily slide around, place them in the empty spaces where your dividers don\u2019t fit. Play with your adjustable containers and decide where they should (or shouldn\u2019t) go.<\/p>\r\n

    VANITY<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n

    Acrylic drawer organizers also are perfect for items that are too big or too tall for shallow drawers, like perfume or smaller health and beauty bottles. These organizers look clean and neat, which is why they can be great to keep on the counter.<\/p>\r\n

    Another method to organizing bathroom drawers is by using a kitchen drawer divider<\/a>! These are amazing for deep drawers as they allow you to store things upright without falling over.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Drawers located right next to the sink should hold your essentials: contacts\/solution and dental products. You don\u2019t want to constantly bend over for your most-used items.<\/p>\r\n

    Beneath the sink is where you can keep a small trash bin, along with large bottles of lotion or baby wipes. These items are bathroom eye sores and storing them out of sight maintains that crisp clean look.<\/p>\r\n

    You may be tempted by the endless amount of hair, skin and beauty products out there. Who isn\u2019t? And when you want to test the quality of a product, you have to buy it first, right?<\/p>\r\n

    But what happens when it\u2019s not working for you and you don\u2019t use it in any routine? It takes up precious space. Bathrooms are notorious for becoming a catchall for the maybe-I\u2019ll-use-its. This is completely understandable because these items build up over time, allowing the clutter to melt into the background of your awareness. Plus, so many bathroom products can be pricey, which causes an internal struggle between saving money and keeping order.<\/p>\r\n

    Like I said: the bathroom is a battleground. However, by following these tips your bathroom will become a place of Zen in no time.<\/p>\r\n
