Being surrounded by some of the country’s top resorts can be a major tease as a local. With Phoenix and Scottsdale\u2019s refreshing pools only steps away, it can be frustrating not being able to take advantage of them, especially in the dead of summer. <\/span><\/p>\n

Enter ResortPass. Founded by San Diego resident Amanda Szabo, ResortPass<\/a> was created after suffering similar symptoms of resort pool withdrawals. After discovering hotels had no way of managing day guests and monetizing non-room amenities\u2014thus restricting sparkling pools to resort guests only\u2014Szabo created ResortPass, a software management and booking platform that allows hotels to manage day guests just like they do night guests. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Living in San Diego surrounded by the best resorts is like the biggest tease ever. I’m not a sneaking-in type and was literally like ‘I’ll pay you to just let me sit in the sun by your pool!’ but that option just didn’t exist,” says Szabo. “There’s a preconception in the industry that ‘non-guests’ are considered outsiders. ResortPass is shifting that thinking and changing the way hotels perceive non-room guests by introducing the concept of registered day guests who, just like overnight guests, book amenities at the appropriate price point based on availability.”<\/p>\n

The best part? It\u2019s as easy as booking a room. Guests are able to book a day pass online for participating ResortPass hotels where it will then appear in the guest\u2019s ResortPass account. Guests then check in at the hotel\u2019s concierge, front desk or spa desk and enjoy the day. The process is just as easy on the hotel\u2019s side as well; the hotel receives a notification when a guest books and is able to track and manage the day\u2019s guests. Day rates are relative with the resort\u2019s night rates to ensure consistent demographics and hotels are able to restrict day guest availability so as not to infringe on its overnight guests. They can also block out certain days during peak seasons and offer dynamic prices, giving hotels complete control while also still having the opportunity to profit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The new program makes for a win-win for hotels and guests alike, with hotels increasing revenue, monetizing during low occupancy and being able to reach a wider audience, including locals, guests at other resorts and nearby vacation renters. Depending on the resort, guests are also able to book cabanas, day beds and other unique features. Not to mention, guests can order up poolside drinks and food, increasing hotel revenue and amping up their daycation.<\/span><\/p>\n

While ResortPass has plans to expand nationally, its current roster already includes properties from top brands like Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, Omni, W Hotels, Fours Seasons, Belmond and more throughout Arizona, California, Florida, Texas and Hawaii. <\/span><\/p>\n
