If you\u2019re the proud parent of a precious pooch then we want to see you and your fur baby at AZ Foothills annual Dog Days of Summer cutest dog contest Yappy Hour. One handsome hound will take home the title of Top Dog and win $500 cash, a feature in Arizona Foothills Magazine<\/em>, and mutt<\/em>-ch more. Here\u2019s how the contest works\u2026<\/p>\n

Round 1: Casting Calls<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Get ready for some paw<\/em>esome fun and enter your pup into the competition at our Yappy Hour on\u00a0Friday August 11 from 5:30p \u2013 7:30p at Two Brothers Tap House & Brewery\u00a0– 4321 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85251. <\/strong>Stop by Two Brothers dog friendly patio anytime during the two hour event to sign your buddy up. We will snap a “headshot” of them while you\u00a0enjoy extended happy hour specials on food and beverage including 50% off appetizers and $1 off beers and cocktails.\u00a0The event will also feature some sweet giveaways and doggie goodies. Our friends at <\/span>Angels For Paws Animal Rescue<\/span><\/span><\/a> will be accepting new or gently used pup items (collar, leash, bed, blanket, bowls, toys, etc) for donation. Each item donated will get you a raffle ticket to win a gift basket full of goodies including a gift card from <\/span>Oh My Dog! Boutique Hotel<\/span><\/span><\/a> and more!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the casting call pups will be entered into one of three contest categories.<\/p>\n

Best Large Dog – <\/em>There’s more to love with a big baby! If your mutt is too big to hold, enter them in this category to win AZ Foothills \u201cLarge Dog of the Year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Best Small Dog – <\/em>If your nugget can fit in your handbag or is small enough to carry, enter them in this category to win AZ Foothills \u201cSmall Dog of the Year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Best Dressed Dog – <\/em>Is your fur baby a fashionista? Show off their best outfit and enter them in this category to win AZFoothills.com \u201cBest Dressed Dog.\u201d Just make sure they come to the casting call dressed to impress.<\/p>\n

Dogs who enter at the casting call will get a paw up on the competition by\u00a0starting the contest with an automatic bonus of 100 votes!<\/p>\n

Round 2: Web Voting<\/strong><\/p>\n

After all entries have been received each pups info and photo will be uploaded to AZFoothills.com where online voting will take place from August 14 \u2013 September 22. Friends, family, and fans of Fido can once per day, per e-mail address. Each dog will have his or her very own voting page and unique link that can easily be shared via e-mail, social media, etc.<\/p>\n

Round 3: Finale <\/strong>Paw<\/strong><\/em>ty & Prize<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the end of online voting the five pups with the most votes in each category listed below will move on to the finals. At the Yappy Hour Finale a winner in each category will be chosen by a panel of doggie-loving judges, along with an overall winner, for a total of four winners. The Dog Days of Summer overall contest winner will take home $500 cash, the title of Arizona Foothills Dog of the Year 2017<\/em>, a pup profile and professional photo shoot in Arizona Foothills Magazine 2018 Best of Our Valley<\/em> issue, and various other puppy prizes. The winners of Large, Small, and Best Dressed will also win some sweet swag.<\/p>\n
