Q.) How soon after a nose job can I wear makeup?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

A.)<\/strong> This question is frequently asked with most facial procedures including a nose job procedure. Most plastic surgery instructions recommend two weeks prior to wearing makeup but there is not good evidence for a shorter or longer time period before doing so. \u00a0In general, if the incision is healed and\/or makeup is not applied directly to the incision anytime is fine. Makeup in general does not impact healing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q.) What can a nose job fix on my face?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

A.)<\/strong> A nose job, or rhinoplasty, can often change the appearance of the face even if the change in the nose shape and size of fairly modest. Since the nose occupies the center of our face, narrowing the nose, shortening or elongating it, or refining the overall nose shape can change the appearance of the face overall. Very small changes can have a fairly significant impact on the overall appearance of the nape as well as the face. \u00a0Also important to remember, the nose must be changed in a way that maintains or improves the function of nasal breathing. I have had a number of patients whose “chronic” sleep apnea suddenly resolves after a properly performed functional rhinoplasty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q.) I struggle with so many nasal problems and breathing problems, will a \u201cnose job\u201d help that?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

A.)<\/strong> If performed properly, a rhinoplasty or as I call it a functional rhinoplasty, can dramatically improve breathing, relieve snoring, and at times resolve sleep apnea.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q.) Is there a less invasive surgery\/procedure I can get to have a smaller nose?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

A.)<\/strong> A non-surgical rhinoplasty is a less invasive way to shape the nose but is primarily used to smooth the nose out or add volume or projection to a nose that is too small. \u00a0A large nose can only be addressed with a surgical rhinoplasty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q.) I heard that there was a nose job with something called Voluma\u00a0without surgery- what is that? I\u2019d like to learn more.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

A.)<\/strong>\u00a0Voluma is a dermal filler that is approved for mid-face volume replenishment. Voluma or other dermal fillers can be used to accomplish a non surgical nose job. When this occurs, Voluma is used to increase the size and projection of the nose or smooth out irregularities. \u00a0A non-surgical nose job cannot reduce the size of a nose it can only add extra volume in needed areas.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q.) I heard about a nose job through injections as opposed to surgery, what is that?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

A.)<\/strong> A non surgical nose job is when dermal filler is injected into the nose to increase volume or projection where needed. \u00a0A non surgical nose job cannot be used to reduce the size or projection of the nose.
