In addition, Arizona artist Kjellgren Alkire, who is part of SMoCA\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smoca.org\/exhibit.php?id=182\" target=\"_blank\"><span><em>Seriously Funny <\/em><\/span><\/a>exhibition, will debut a special live performance at 9:30 p.m. Alkire\u2019s live antics as Reverend Roughstock &amp; The Jesus Rodeo were honored with a <em>Phoenix New Times<\/em><\/span><span> Best of Phoenix Award in 2007.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>As for the music, DJs<span><a href=\"http:\/\/profile.myspace.com\/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&amp;friendID=177701591\"> <\/a>Jared Alan<\/span>,<span> William Reed<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0and <span>Dk.Strickler<\/span> &amp; World Famous Rani g will ignite the evening with a diverse range of styles while a selection of live local bands will create the \u201cfever\u201d with an energetic beat. Global in its focus, the Museum is a unique and vital cultural resource for the Southwest, serving local audiences as well as visitors from throughout the United States and abroad. SMoCA was designed by award-winning architect Will Bruder and is a remarkable renovation of a former movie theatre. It boasts five galleries for showcasing new exhibitions and works from the Museum&#8217;s growing permanent collection. The Store @ SMoCA offers classic design objects and furnishings, contemporary jewelry, art and architecture books and imaginative gifts for all occasions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span>The Scottsdale Cultural Council, a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is contracted by the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, to administer certain city arts and cultural projects and to manage the City-owned Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, and the Scottsdale Public Art Program.
