Three Places for Outdoor Music Tonight

It’s been a long week in the office, so take your warm Friday night outdoors and enjoy some great music with friends or a loved one. With all the live performances and free outdoor concerts continually embracing the Valley, it’s like music to our ears.

Jazz on the Promenade
Whether just finishing a dinner at nearby Maggiano’s or Capital Grille in Scottsdale’s Promenade Shopping Center or would just like to listen to some talented musicians in the cool spring air, experience one of the Promenade’s outdoor concerts featuring The Charles Lewis Quintet jazz band. This free performance, running from 7 to 9 p.m., will also include flavorsome wines and desserts, perfect for an after-dinner hangout.

Ringo McLennonSon Performs “The Beatles and Beyond”
Head to Mesa Arts Center for a free outdoor concert featuring nothing but Beatles favorites played by their local tribute band Ringo McLennonSon. “The Beatles and Beyond” performance from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. will feature oldies and later goodies that hopefully include “Here Comes the Sun” and “Michelle.” Come find out which ones this fascinating group chooses. The show is part of “Second Friday” and is open to the public.

Jazz in the Garden with Sherry Petta
Jazz Artist of the Year at the LA Music Awards, Sherry Petta, will be providing tonight’s musical entertainment at Desert Botanicals’ Jazz in the Garden Spring Concert Series from 7 to 9 p.m. Like what you hear? Every Friday through June, a talented Jazz artist will perform in the Ullman Terrace and guests are invited to indulge in great cuisine from the chef-attended food station or the Patio Café. What better to accompany great music than a delicious glass of wine or cocktail? Tickets are $14 for DBG Members and $20 for non-members and can be ordered online or by phone. Other upcoming artists to play at Jazz in the Garden series include Cinco De Moio (Latin jazz), Blue Mystics featuring members of Incendio (jazzy blues), Margo and Michael Reed (jazz), SHRI (blues), The Jump Back Brothers (blues), Larry Redhouse Trio (jazz) and Late Harvest (jazz). Guests must be 21 years of age to attend and doors open at 6 p.m.
