How to Plan a Valentine’s Date to Remember

Story by Scott Young – Love Gifted

Can you remember what you did for Valentine’s Day last year? Not many can, few couples who are asked remember regardless of what they did or how nice the night was. It’s because we’re tied to emotions, not things and on this day of celebration for love it appears to have lost some of the emotion for many of us. But there are some who have mastered this holiday and create incredible, I’ll never forget this moment type of experiences that elevate couples and bring them even closer together. At Love Gifted our sole purpose is to create and capture these moments. And to help you do it yourself we’ve put together these 5 steps that will change the way you think about Valentine’s Day for the rest of your life.

  1. What’s your purpose – Valentine’s Day should be about celebrating the love of your life. Even the most lavish gifts will have little significance unless you give them out of love and devotion. Genuinely praise and adore your spouse, see their value and worth and share it with them. Make it a point to express all the reasons why your love them so.
  1. “It’s not about me” – If you’re focused on yourself then your heart’s in the wrong place. Worries, fears, and expectations have no place on Valentine’s Day. Focus on your partner and embrace wherever that leads. Think about what would make them happy. When do you see them smile the most? How can you tailor this night to their favorite things? You want to bring out the best in them so cater to their style. When a person is comfortable and in their element they’re more likely to let go of distractions and be present in the moment. This goes for communication as well; listen to the things that are important to them, respond with intrigue, and support them every chance you get.
  1. Set the mood – The mood of the night is the attitude and feeling that you want your partner to feel. Some love the romance of a candlelight dinner, surrounded by fine art and crystal chandeliers. While others find their paradise walking through a garden and wine tasting next to a beautiful fountain. We all have our happy places but once you identify the feeling of this night that suits them the best, you filter out 95% of all the venues and make planning easier on yourself to choose the right place.vday3
  1. Choosing the right place – When your purpose is centered on your love and appreciation for your partner, where to go begins to take care of itself. It’s no longer about a specific restaurant or event anymore, it’s about a feeling or an emotion. So don’t worry if Yelp’s number 1 restaurant is full because you can create an incredible night they’re going to love no matter where you go when you do it right.
  1. You are the special ingredient – The perfect night is about so much more than where you go, it’s all about who you are together. The great thing about love is that your wife/husband/partner loves you back. They fell head over heels in love with you which means they love your personality and the all the things you do. Use this. Use your creativity and imagination to infuse the best parts of who you both are into your date. When you can capture the “it” factor that makes your relationship so special and sprinkle it into your night, those are the little things that turn a good night into an incredible, I’ll never forget this type of experience. You just created something more than any restaurant or venue can provide and it has nothing to do with expensive gifts or fancy dinners. That’s the real meaning of Valentine’s Day. To show your partner how much they mean to you, in this rare moment of privacy and love, there’s nothing better than the two of you when you’re together.vday1
