The American Society of Interior Designers is the oldest and largest professional organization committed to interior design. This respected group is not only comprised of industry professionals and representatives, but also educators and students—all of whom are dedicated in one way or another to interior design. Therefore, it is fitting that the organization—which includes 38,000-plus members throughout the United States and Canada and 20,000 practicing interior designers—is sponsoring this weekend’s unique tour event.

The “Where Designers Dwell” Home Tour will take place this Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. During the day-long event, not only will you have the chance to wander through the homes of Tucson’s most prestigious and acclaimed interior designers, but you will also have the opportunity to meet the designers themselves and ask about their decorating choices and the design challenges each of them faced in their own homes. In addition to chatting it up with each designer, guests on this self-guided tour will be able to speak with some of the suppliers, as well as gather ideas on fabrics, color choices, materials, and find out what it is like to work with an interior designer.

Understandably, you’re probably wondering which of Tucson’s favorite interior designers’ homes you will get to visit this Saturday. Here is the best part—the incredible lineup is as follows: Lori Carroll, ASID; Liz Ryan, allied member ASID; Larry N. Deutsch, ASID and William F. Parker, ASID; Tom and Susan Lujan, allied member ASID; and Kim Rasmussen, ASID. Because this is a self-guided tour, you may choose where to begin and end your visits, since each home is in a different spot in and around the Tucson Metropolitan area.
