Since 2003, the Health & Wealth Raffle has not only become one of the largest fundraisers for St. Joseph’s Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute, but an integral part of the Arizona landscape. This spring’s Health & Wealth Raffle will launch Thursday, Feb. 17, paying homage to the businesses and people that comprise Arizona’s “originals.”
St. Joseph’s Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute have a long history of enriching and saving lives throughout Arizona. Established in 1895, St. Joseph’s is the state’s first and largest hospital. It is a destination for the most complex medical cases from throughout Arizona and the world.
The hospital is home to the internationally-renowned Barrow Neurological Institute, the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center, the Valley’s first lung transplant program, a comprehensive cancer center, a high-risk obstetrics and gynecology center, and a Level I Trauma Center, one of only two in Arizona with verification from the American College of Surgeons.
To date, the Health & Wealth Raffle has raised more than $50 million and funded 300 projects at St. Joseph’s and Barrow.
“While many people look forward to supporting the hospital and enjoy dreaming about the prizes, not many people realize the incredible impact the Raffle has locally,” says Kathy Rice, executive director of the Health & Wealth Raffle. “St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Health & Wealth Raffle are committed to supporting Arizona’s economy by purchasing the services and prizes used in the Raffle from local businesses that support local jobs, whenever possible.”
Raffle organizers are planning amazing prizes from Arizona-based companies for the Spring 2011 Raffle, including:
• A luxury T.W. Lewis home plus a Cadillac CTS Coupe
• Fourteen top-of-the-line 2011 vehicles, purchased at local dealerships
• Five ‘stay-cation’ packages at the state’s top resorts
• Season tickets for all of Arizona’s major league sports teams
• One year of unlimited movies for the winner and a guest at Harkins Theaters
“Participating in the Health & Wealth Raffle is a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime prize, strengthen Arizona’s local economy and, most importantly, support lifesaving care at one of Arizona’s most important treasures: St. Joseph’s Hospital and Barrow Neurological Institute,” says Rice. “It truly is a win-win!”
