Whether you’re taking in a Diamondbacks’ or Suns’ game or perhaps catching the latest music act to perform at Talking Stick Resort Arena, Downtown Phoenix has a brand-new high-res to keep you comfy between events: Residence Inn/Courtyard by Marriott Phoenix Downtown.

The 20-story, 320-room hotel, which celebrated its grand opening in the fall, not only offers proximity to all the arts and culture happenings, sports events, entertainment, nightlife and dining that Downtown has to offer, but a sleek place to call it a night. (The hotel combines the 200-suite Residence Inn hotel and 120-room Courtyard hotel.) Upon walking into the lobby, the sculptural lighting, cozy-yet-contemporary seating areas and glossy good looks inform guests that this more than just a business traveler's place for staying and playing.

With a fully-equipped kitchen (grocery delivery service is available) and a well-lit work area, The Residence Inn Phoenix Downtown offers studio suites that are designed for extended stays and are perfect for families or couples who want the flexibility of cooking on their own. The suites are mighty handsome as well, with dark woods, a sleek, clean-lined bathroom and beautiful, colorful agate accents. It is hard to beat the skyline views of Phoenix from 20 floors up, too.

Though some of the Valley’s top dining destinations are footsteps from Residence Inn/Courtyard by Marriott Phoenix Downtown, everyone can appreciate a really good continental breakfast—and that is what the hotel offers each morning. From healthful options like fresh fruit, a variety of juices and oatmeal to more indulgent a.m. eats, like make-your-own waffles and piping-hot bacon, guests can dig in each morning before going about the day. Currently the only on-site restaurant, The Bistro also offers casual dining and coffee. An indoor swimming pool and a fitness center round out the offerings at the high-rise hotel.

One of the most exciting things happening at Residence Inn/Courtyard by Marriott Phoenix Downtown in the coming months is the launch of Little Rituals. Ross Simon, proprietor of Bitter & Twisted Cocktail Parlour, and Aaron DeFeo, the property mixologist for Casino del Sol resort in Tucson, are joining forces to provide seasonal cocktails and delish bar bites from the hotel’s fourth floor. Described as a “refined lounge setting,” Little Rituals is bound to impress--and shake things up--with its cutting-edge cocktail techniques. The cocktail concept is set to open in mid-2018.
