The end of the year is always jam-packed with parties for families, work and friends. All the invites also come along with the question of what to bring as a gift for the host at all of these different types of events. Scottsdale Quarter Marketing Director, Alison Goodman, gave some of her suggestions for the perfect host gift this holiday season.
When deciding what to bring, first consider how well you know the host, and if possible, pick a gift that accurately reflects their personality, Goodman says.
“I personally love bringing kitschy, seasonal items,” Goodman says. “Right now, West Elm has the cutest appetizer plates. I’ve already purchased a set for an upcoming holiday party.”
For a family-filled event, try to get an item that would be more personal. This Santa salt and pepper shaker from Pottery Barn does just that.
When attending a holiday work party, a great bottle of wine is always a hit, Goodman says. Sorso Wine Room has very unique options at every prince range.
During the colder winter months, everyone loves a holiday-scented candle to warm the entire house. Combine this with some pretty packaging, and it’s a great gift for your friend that is hosting a holiday soirée. This candle from West Elm accomplishes that perfectly.
“When in doubt, you can never go wrong with sweet treats,” Goodman says.
Le Macaron at Scottsdale Quarter has a delicious assortment of cookies and chocolates to satisfy any sweet tooth.
Finally once you’ve secured the perfect gift, you can do as much—or as little—as you wish with the packaging. It’s best not to wrap a host gift, Goodman says. Usually a festive bag is ideal, such as these unique options from Paper Source.
For a creative and luxe touch on a bottle of wine, you could pick up this faux fur wine bag from Restoration Hardware.
Hopefully these tips are useful in the search for the perfect host gift. Happy shopping!
