\nEight, Arizona PBS takes over CityScape in Downtown Phoenix Sunday, April 28 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a live food event called Eight\u2019s Check, Please! Arizona Festival<\/strong>. The event features samples from more than 30 Valley chefs, as well as beer, wine and spirits, chef demos, chef meet and greets and more. Click here<\/a> for tickets.
\nOn Saturday, from 2 to 6 p.m., guests at Taylor Morrison’s<\/strong> two, new Scottsdale communities, Lone Mountain and Mirabel Village, will tour the fine wines of Italy and Spain with sommeliers from AZ Wine Company who will be on site to pour samples of a dozen different European wines.\u00a0Plus, food pairings will be prepared by a guest chef. Attendees have the chance to win a guided, luxury winery tour by limousine at Mirabel Village, as well as a dozen bottles of wines at Lone Mountain. The 21 and older event is free.
\nProvince<\/strong> at The Westin Phoenix Downtown \u00a0partners with the Children\u2019s Museum of Phoenix to launch a bilingual literacy celebration on April 30, in honor of D\u00eda de los Ni\u00f1os\/D\u00eda de los Libros (Day of the Children\/Day of the Books). From April 30 through May 30, 2013, kids under 12 years old will eat free from the selections available on the kids\u2019 menu at Province when they bring new or gently used children\u2019s books to the restaurant as a donation to the Children\u2019s Museum of Phoenix. Kids and families are encouraged to bring books that are written in Spanish and\/or English.\u00a0(Children must be accompanied by an adult and only qualifies with the purchase of an adult entr\u00e9e.)
\nNYPD Pizza<\/strong> will donate 25 percent\u00a0of proceeds from dine-in guests to the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) this weekend (April 27-28) via its Pets & Pizza event.
