That we just want to help. Well, Phoenix&#8217;s Waste Not couldn&#8217;t have made it easier for locals to lend a hand to help the hungry in the Valley. All you have to do is visit one of the participating Valley restaurants and order. Yup&#8211;that simple.<br \/>\nThis week is your last chance to Step Up to the Plate for Waste Not. The Valley nonprofit, Waste Not, collects more than 2 million pounds of excess perishable food annually from restaurants, resorts, caterers and various food purveyors and delivers it to schools, after-school programs, senior programs, transition homes, day care centers and assisted living facilities to feed locals that might otherwise go hungry. And through April 30, the Valley is invited to help the Step Up to the Plate for Waste Not campaign reach its $50,000 goal.<br \/>\nChannels 3, 5, 10, 12 and 15 have joined local chefs and will promote the campaign by highlighting participating restaurants and their respective &#8220;Waste Not Special&#8221; from the menu. Each time an order is placed for a Waste Not Special at a participating restaurant, half the proceeds will benefit the organization&#8217;s food rescue mission. Keep this in mind: for every $1 raised, Waste Not can feed six people.<br \/>\nParticipating restaurants include Keegan\u2019s Grill (Chandler, Ahwatukee, Phoenix); Olive &amp; Ivy, Rancho Pinot, The Arrogant Butcher, Red White &amp; Brew, Olive &amp; Ivy Restaurant + Marketplace; Lon\u2019s at the Hermosa Inn; Zinburger; Beckett\u2019s Table, Modern Steak and Noca.
