\nLucky for my colleagues and I, an adorable little coffee shop opened up down the street: Sonoma Coffee Cafe\u00a0& Drive Thru. (It happens to be right off the 101 at Via de Ventura–and have a drive thru–so the location is actually quite convenient for anyone commuting in Scottsdale.) The atmosphere is cute and cozy, with large leather sofas and a European-inspired mural on the wall. My favorite drink so far is one of the “Sonoma Specialties,” the Sonoma chai latte with raspberry and vanilla. The specialties menu also includes a spiced mocha with Ghiradelli chocolate (can’t go wrong there, can you?)\u00a0and a handful of tea lattes. My co-workers heart the the vanilla latte. There’s also a selection of blended ice drinks offered at Sonoma\u00a0Coffee Cafe\u00a0like a White\u00a0Russian Frappe with espresso, white chocolate and\u00a0coffee royale and a Matcha green tea frappe with peppermint. The latter sounds especially cooling come summer.
\nHungry? Sonoma Coffee Cafe also had a selection of breakfast items like egg-and-cheese sandwiches, Belgian waffles, fruit parfaits, muffins, oatmeal and bagels, as well as paninis, salads and a soup of the day for lunchtime visitors. For dessert,\u00a0avert your eyes to the gelato case where you can get a\u00a0cupful of cool, creamy peanut butter cup or raspberry tiramisu, among other flavors.
