Scottsdale’s new Rhythm\u00a0& Wine (from the folks at Jalapeno Inferno) celebrates one of our favorite combinations: food + wine + music. During a lunchtime visit last week, we sampled the cafe’s delectable food and super cool atmosphere for ourselves. Before we got to the food, we had fun checking out the restaurant’s cool digs. The wine wall definitely made us thirsty (and had us wishing for a similar setup in our own homes) and the funky beads and\u00a0upside lamps that hung from the ceiling made for serious eye candy. Overall, the interior was intimate and dimly lit, perfect for a date or a chill night with friends.<\/div>\n

Reading the menu was as entertaining as actually getting to eat the selections. Items like Cher’d Plates, Courtney Loves This Chicken Pasta and Barry’s White Pizza were some of the music-inspired selections. We went with the Beach Boys’ California Surf Pizza, the Calistoga and the slider flight. The pizza, which was large enough for two people to share, was flavorful with Roma tomatoes, pine nuts, huge chunks of roasted garlic and three types of cheese. Plus, the crust was just right–thick and crispy. R & W\u2019s Calistoga salad featured baby greens lightly-dressed with zinfandel balsamic, sun-dried cherries, penne rigate, toasted pine nuts and chevre.\u00a0 It was delicious; a perfect summertime salad.\u00a0 After salad, the small but mighty slider flight arrived. The platter included three two-ounce miniature sliders: a traditional R&W burger, a Cuban-style burger and a barbecued pulled-pork burger topped with fried onion strings. Each slider was the perfect two-bite cure for the any burger craving. Jam-packed with flavor,\u00a0we were barely able to finish two, saving the third for dinner.
\nFor dessert (or the Lovin’ Spoonfulls), the fondue was the way to go. The pot filled with house-blended chocolate sauce was paired with everything that is delicious: strawberries, bananas, Rice Krispy treats, pound cake, Oreo cookies, graham crackers, coffee beans and pretzels.\u00a0The decadence was totally worth\u00a0the resulting afternoon sugar crash.
