Phoenix-founded restaurant group Genuine Concepts<\/a> will open its seventh bespoke location of one of the Valley\u2019s favorite neighborhood hangouts, The VIG<\/a>, in late spring at Dana Park in Mesa. This is the first East Valley location for the restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Founded by Tucker Woodbury and Jim Riley in 2006 with the opening of The VIG Arcadia, Genuine Concepts has grown into a Valley-wide collection of hyperlocal, community-driven restaurants and bars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new location has been crafted with the unique history of the area in mind, from the wall art to the welcoming front porch that doubles as a lush, green, 2,500 square foot trellis-topped dining patio and rambling interior reminiscent of a Mesa ranch house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe VIG has always been known for our fun outdoor spaces where you can eat, sip, and linger, so when it came to our first-ever East Valley location, we knew we wanted a welcoming, ranch house vibe that really honored the classic neighborhood,\u201d Artie Vigil of ARV3 Design Studio said. \u201cAnd what\u2019s a better greeting than a spacious, convivial front porch and patio, rather than hiding everything around back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors to The VIG Dana Park will recognize classic restaurant features like an oversized copper-topped bar surrounded by cozy banquette seating as well as a more intimate dining area tucked in the back that doubles as a private event space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Custom artwork lining the walls will be unique to the Mesa location, honoring the neighborhood\u2019s farming and ranching history. This, paired with a wooden jewel box interior, nostalgic old-west-style booths, and copper accents, will give the space a feel best described as \u201cMesa Modern.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open daily for lunch and dinner, weekend brunch, and weekday happy hour from 3-6 p.m., The VIG Dana Park will be led by renowned chef Jeremy Pacheco.
