With the help of Executive Chef Michael Wismer of Kneader&#8217;s Bakery &amp; Cafe, at-home chefs\u00a0can have tasty homemade barbecue sauces and salad dressing to impress their party guests in just minutes.<br \/>\n<strong>For the Grill:\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Spicy BBQ Sauce:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1\/2 cup chopped sweet onion<\/li>\n<li>2 garlic cloves, minced<\/li>\n<li>1 jalape\u00f1o pepper, seeded and minced (more or less, to taste)<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon olive oil<\/li>\n<li>1 (32-oz.) bottle ketchup (such as Heinz)<\/li>\n<li>1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 cup apple cider vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup apple juice<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup honey<\/li>\n<li>1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon kosher salt<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon celery seeds<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Combine all ingredients and use as a marinade 12-24 hours in advance or brush on burgers, steaks, fish, chicken or pork during the last 5-10 minutes on the grill for a spicy, sweet sauce that&#8217;s sure to kick up your BBQ a notch.\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\n<strong>For the Side Salad (pictured):\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Creamy BBQ Dressing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 c. mayonnaise<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 c. milk<\/li>\n<li>1\/3 c. buttermilk<\/li>\n<li>2 Tbsp. fresh cilantro, finely chopped<\/li>\n<li>1 Tbsp. lime juice<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. white vinegar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp. granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 garlic clove, finely minced<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 tsp. salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp. cayenne pepper<\/li>\n<li>1\/8 tsp. black pepper<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 tsp. ground cumin<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 to 1\/2 cup BBQ sauce (feel free to use spicy bbq recipe already prepared above)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Combine all ingredients in a blender or bowl and whisk until smooth.
