\nA dining staple at Scottsdale Quarter for Italian-inspired cuisine, Tanzy<\/strong><\/a> Restaurant has added new menu items to its lunch, brunch and dinner lineups. The new eats include French onion soup, cast-iron polenta,\u00a0shrimp and grits, the Cuban sandwich and a modern wedge salad, among others.
\nOn a recent lunch visit, we sampled some of the new eats, including the delicious crab cakes. The crab cakes are chock-full of flaky crab and are encrusted in brioche, adding a tempting crispiness. The dish is served with a tangy Old Bay remoulade and a super-summery frisee and citrus salad. The housemade meatballs are a signature starter at Tanzy, and each visit warrants an order of the trio of delectable meatballs. They are crowned with\u00a0San Marzano tomato sauce and whipped ricotta.
\nThe salad lineup at Tanzy couldn’t be more perfect for summer and its draining triple-digit days, including the new grilled skirt steak panzanella salad. The hearty salad is overflowing with color and flavor in the form of toybox tomato, shaved red onion, blue cheese, avocado mousse and thyme croutons, which are mixed in a red wine vinaigrette. And picture-perfect pick is the quinoa-and-almond-crusted goat cheese salad. In addition to the goat cheese medallions, the salad features dried\u00a0apricots, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, arugula, quinoa with lemon poppy seed dressing and a balsamic glaze. The salad is a medley of different flavors and textures: sweet and savory, crunchy and creamy.
\nA trip to Tanzy wouldn’t be complete without ordering one of its incredible pasta dishes. The orecchiette with\u00a0spiced turkey sausage and wilted Swiss chard is light enough that it won’t weigh you down during these hot summer days but it is hearty enough to keep you satisfied well through to dinner.
\nIn addition to the new dishes, Tanzy also just unveiled a shared cocktail experience: patio punches.\u00a0The punches are\u00a0made with seasonal and
\nfresh produce and portioned to share. Each bowl–there are three flavors available–contains four servings and\u00a0is priced at $20.\u00a0The new patio punches can be enjoyed daily or during brunch every Saturday\u00a0and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
