\nWhen it comes to facing the challenge of finding a healthy kid-friendly restaurant, sometimes, it is just easier to simply stay home and whip up a salad. However,\u00a0Tokyo Joe\u2019s<\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0a fast-casual, Asian-style restaurant with three Valley locations–Phoenix (Town & Country), Chandler Pavilions and Mesa–makes dining out without resorting to greasy burgers and fries is much more possible.
\nTokyo Joe\u2019s is a fast-casual concept, so you order your food at the counter and it is quickly delivered to the table of your choosing. The menu is chock-full of fresh, healthy, Asian-inspired fare (think sushi, rice bowls and salads) that is made to order. Plus, the inventive kids menu dishes up a fun PB&J sushi roll, a teriyaki chicken bowl and more food that tots will actual want to taste.
\nThe spring rolls are a light, refreshing way to start a meal. The rice paper wraps are filled with shrimp, chicken or tofu and crunchy veggies. (Kids will get a kick out of seeing the colorful ingredients through the wrap.) Available in four or eight pieces, the sushi menu offers classics like spicy tuna or California rolls alongside more unique offerings like the spicy Arizona roll. And because you can order up only four pieces of a\u00a0roll if you choose, you can easily mix and match and sample a few selections. Plus, Tokyo Joe’s just introduced poke bowls (which happens to be a 2016 food trend!)\u00a0to\u00a0its sushi menu, with either ahi tuna or spicy salmon, that are sure to be popular once the weather warms up and people shy away from heavier dishes.
\nFor a filling yet nutritious meal, order up a signature bowl (on the flipside, there are delish salads for a lighter feast), with the MoJoe Bowl being a favorite (pictured). This crowd-pleaser comprises\u00a0chicken, pineapple, egg, onion, red pepper and a sweet and spicy sauce. Guests are even invited to create their own custom bowl by choosing a protein, carb, sauce and veggies. Ask to try a few of Tokyo Joe’s signature sauces.
\nThe only way to top off your meal is with a visit to Joe’s Ice Tea Bar. The restaurant offers up five thirst-quenching iced tea flavors like raspberry-hibiscus and pomegranate green tea that are sure to refresh–and keep you away from the sugary
