Scottsdale&#8217;s Canal restaurant has just brought back it&#8217;s TV Dinner Tuesday Nights, &#8220;a throwback to the early 50\u2019s Swanson cuisine.&#8221; Executive Chef Justin Beckett&#8217;s menu includes American classics with a worldly twist:<br \/>\n\u2022 Grandma\u2019s meatloaf with panko-fried Maui onion rings, mushroom pan gravy, marcona almond green bean almandine, mashed potatoes and kaffir lime-lemon Jell-o<br \/>\n\u2022 Filet mignon beef stroganoff with cr\u00e8me fra\u00eeche, watercress and pickled onion salad, parker-house rolls and apple cobbler<br \/>\n\u2022 Chicken pot pie, with flaky pie crust, fresh peas, carrots, cipollini onions, Yukon gold potatoes, fresh green salad and chocolate mousse<br \/>\n\u2022 Beer batter fish and parmesan garlic fries, green salad, chipotle-corn on the cob and meyer lemon meringue tart<br \/>\n\u2022 Mushroom and goat cheese enchilada platter with creamy tomatillo sauce, corn, zucchini and onion salsa, pinto beans, rice pilaf and a caramel churro<br \/>\n\u2022 Lobster macaroni and cheese, with sweet corn, chilled asparagus salad, and double chocolate brownie with rainbow sprinkles<br \/>\nCanal&#8217;s TV dinners are served in authentic ceramic TV dinner-style serving platters, and the 30-foot projection screens showcase classics such as &#8220;Gilligan\u2019s Island&#8221;, &#8220;Happy Days&#8221;, &#8220;I Dream of Jeannie&#8221;, &#8220;Bewitched&#8221;, &#8220;I Love Lucy&#8221;, &#8220;Lassie&#8221;, and the &#8220;Dick Van Dyke Show&#8221;, among others. All six options will be offered every Tuesday night, throughout the summer season, for the price of $19.95. 7144 E. The Tea Party is designed as an after-work event that encourages socializing and networking. Participants will spend 30 minutes at each location, enjoying drink specials, free snacks, prizes and promotional items. Then, at the sound of a whistle, participants will move to the next stop for 30 minutes, and so on. The five participating restaurants are Eli\u2019s American Grille, Tapino Kitchen and Wine Bar, Handlebar-J, Centro Paninoteca and Chop and Wok\/Wok Star Bar. Participants then return to to Eli\u2019s at 8:30 p.m. for a raffle drawing.<br \/>\nRestaurant owners and their off-duty employees will walk with the group to each stop. Participants who miss the first stop can catch up with the group at the next one. Two local cab companies, Euro Way and Comp Taxi, will be for rides, if needed.
