\nAfter a three-month fundraising effort, Taste of the NFL has announced the top four winners of its \u201cFlavors of the Valley\u201d\u00a0restaurant competition and fundraising campaign as part of\u00a0TNFL\u2019s annual\u00a0Kick Hunger Challenge.\u00a0\u00a0Litchfield\u2019s at the Wigwam, Dos Gringos, Four Peaks and Bourbon Jack\u2019s were the top four fundraisers among 16 restaurants that participated in campaign.\u00a0 (Participating restaurants also included\u00a0Blanco Tacos & Tequila, Citizen Public House,\u00a0Culinary Dropout, The Gladly,\u00a0EVO, Foosia \u2013\u00a0Asia Fresh,\u00a0Half Moon Windy City Sports Grill, O.H.S.O.,\u00a0Phoenix City Grille,\u00a0Scramble – a Breakfast Joint,\u00a0Sol Mexican Cocina, and\u00a0Zinburger.) Proceeds from the fundraiser that took place from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31 will be distributed to two Valley food banks: St. Mary\u2019s Food Bank Alliance and Vista del Camino.
\n\u201cWe are deeply appreciative of the efforts of all 16 local restaurants who participated in our Kick Hunger Challenge,\u201d said TNFL founder and executive director, Wayne Kostroski. \u201cThey\u2019re all winners to us. It\u2019s because of their dedication to our cause that we are closer to reaching our fundraising goal of one million dollars raised as part of Super Bowl XLIX in Arizona.\u201d
\nAs the top fundraisers, Litchfield\u2019s at The Wigwam, Dos Gringos, Four Peaks and Bourbon Jack\u2019s will join Chef Eddie Matney and his Eddie\u2019s House in the \u201cFlavors of the Valley\u201d showcase, hosted by Valley GMC Dealers, at TNFL\u2019s Party with a Purpose held on the eve of Super Bowl XLIX on Saturday, Jan. 31 at WestWorld of Scottsdale.\u00a0 Chef Eddie Matney, a 15-year veteran of Taste of the NFL, will serve as the Culinary Host of the Flavors of the Valley restaurants that evening.
\nNearly $60,000 was raised during the three month campaign as each participating Valley-based restaurant featured a special dining promotion with 100 percent of promotion proceeds benefiting the two local food banks.
