\nAffordable Food Festivals (the team behind Arizona Taco Festival, Arizona BBQ Festival and Scottsdale Beer Palooza) announced a new indoor event, Taste Tequila, to take place July 26 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Venue of Scottsdale.
\nModeled after their famous Tequila Expo at the Arizona Taco Festival, AFF\u2019s Taste Tequila will offer attendees the opportunity to sample some of the finest blancos, reposados, anejos, extra anejos, and specialty tequilas. More than 30 brands will showcase their entire portfolio of tequila types; there will be more than 100 types to try.
\nIn addition to tasting, tasting and more tasting, Taste Tequila will offer education seminars, to take place in an intimate side room, focusing on topics such history, flavor distinction and tequila production methods. Also, a live DJ will provide upbeat background music during the Grand Tasting in the main hall. At 9 p.m., the tequila tables will be cleared for two hours of cash bar and live music.
\nA portion of proceeds will benefit the Anne Rita Monahan Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides research funding to support the development of reliable screening tests for ovarian cancer. Tickets are $50 and come with 10 half-ounce samples of tequila and stops at various food stations. VIP cost $100 and come with 15 half-ounce samples, unlimited food, and access to a special elevated VIP lounge. Designated Driver tickets are available for $20 and include two non-alcoholic beverages as well as five stops at food stations.
