\nPhoenix-area fans of tasty sandwiches and salads, mouthwatering baked goods and too-cute eateries will fondly remember Chestnut Lane, an adorable restaurant along Camelback Road that, though popular, was forced to close in 2010. Well, Chestnut Lane lives to see another day; sisters Marissa Hochman and Kirsten Steele have revived the restaurant in a new location (across the street from its initial location at Camelback and 44th Streets) and with a fresh name, Chestnut Fine Foods & Provisions.
\nBefore we even ordered our lunch (the restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, until 7 p.m.), we were impressed with Chestnut’s cheery atmosphere and good looks. Lots of grays and yellows filled the airy restaurant, as well as a cool communal table and a spacious patio. If Anthropologie was a restaurant, it would be Chestnut Fine Foods & Provisions. Plus, the eatery partnered with Camelback Flower Shop, which occupies a small corner at the front of the restaurant.

\nOn to the fresh farm-to-table eats. Guest orders their meal at the counter, which is then delivered to their table of choice. The hearty lobster roll (pictured) is a standout sandwich on the lunch menu while the kale salad (pictured) and winter quinoa salad are packed not only with nutrition but with lots of fresh flavor. Even the half-size portions are generous (though full sizes are available, t00). We recommend getting two half-size salads and mix and match. To drink, Chestnut has lineup of healthy elixirs and juices as well as a partnership with local faves, Cartel Coffee Lab. The Green Market Goodness is chock-full of goodness: kale, cucumber, apple, orange, lemon and extra virgin olive oil. It was a bit tart but tasty. (There is a great kids menu for breakfast and lunch, too.)

\nWhile there is plenty of does-a-body-good eats at Chestnut, its divine cookies, cakes, scones, bars and more baked goodies are worth the caloric plunge. The salted caramel bar is ooey gooey deliciousness but, because the bar isn’t too thick, you don’t feel overly stuffed with sweets. And the peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies (pictured) are super-soft and so yummy–you might want to fill up a bakery box to go.
