The reimagined, historic Egyptian Motor Hotel<\/a> in the Grand Avenue Arts District is now open to the public, offering guests live entertainment, hospitality, nightlife and premium dining at the first restaurant of Phoenix\u2019s favorite Mexican street food pop-up, Chilte. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located at 765 Grand Ave. in Downtown Phoenix, the Egyptian Motor Hotel first opened in the 1950s before operating as a different brand for decades. Over 70 years later, Rebel Hospitality has brought the buried treasure back to life with updated amenities, while preserving the original iconic Egyptian emblems, exaggerated neon sign, open-air concept and classic V-shape design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The property boasts 49 guestrooms with coined \u201cstacked\u201d bunk bed and king bed offerings, as well balconies and first-floor porches. Each guestroom has been refreshed with a retro, yet modern design, as well as with new technology and amenities, including Marshall Bluetooth speakers, retro refrigerators, fast, free WiFi and acoustic guitars for guests to play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional property updates include Egyptian Live, a 250-seat outdoor bar and entertainment venue for artists and performers of the local community; adult games and activities; Airstream guest room; water and fire pit features; and custom art murals from local artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chilte<\/a>, the hotel\u2019s flagship restaurant, is the first brick-and-mortar location for Co-Founder and Executive Chef Lawrence Smith, whose takes on traditional Mexican cuisine have been captivating local appetites through pop-ups and a food truck across town since 2020. Chilte will introduce a fresh, innovative menu at the Egyptian, including a Mole Flight, featuring three different moles inspired by Chef Lawrence\u2019s travels to Mexico, and Elote Cheesecake, a sweet spin on beloved Mexican street corn with Mezcal, chili, fruit, corn and queso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
