It all started when entrepreneur\/developer and visionary Jim Watkins \u2013 still today an active proponent of Del Mar as a destination for locals and visitors alike \u2013 orchestrated a rebirth of the oceanfront village in 1989. Watkins\u2019 centerpiece project was The Inn at L\u2019Auberge Del Mar, which was constructed on a 5.2-acre site overlooking the Pacific. Ultimately fueling a Del Mar renaissance, the hotel was designed to re-envision the 1940\u2019s glamor of this appealing seaside town with a slight European flavor as seen in the chateau-like architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ringing in its 30th anniversary this year, L’Auberge Del Mar<\/a> is celebrating the epic milestone with a party, escape package and other fun features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebrations for the anniversary include a party on Friday, May 3 from 7 to 10 p.m.<\/strong> Open to the public, the night will feature live music on the Sunset Terrace, specialty foods and craft cocktails. Throughout 2019 guests can order the Pearl ’89 Cocktail<\/strong>, a mix of Moet Chandon, Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin, Elderflower Tonic, Giffard Pamplemousse and lemon juice. Or unwind with the Pearl Radiance Facial<\/strong> at the Spa. Also available through the end of the year, the customized facial uses the Spa’s natural skincare line with ingredients derived from the ocean to reveal pearly glowing skin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
