Each year, the Emergency Animal Medical Technician™ at the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) respond to thousands of calls where animal cruelty has been reported. The most common animal cruelty investigations are for abandonment, welfare check and
no water, and our EAMTs play a key role in the investigation of suspected cruelty and neglect. Sadly, this adorable two-year-old Mastiff mix named Smaug was involved in one of those cases. Fortunately, however, he is now in the care of AHS and ready to find a much happier home. Smaug is an amazing dog and never allows his past to hold him down. He is a big guy weighing in at just over 80 pounds, so would benefit most from a home where he can stretch those big legs of his. Come visit Smaug today at our Sunnyslope Campus. It won’t take you long to see why he’s one of the most huggable dogs you’ll ever meet.
