Bailey is an eleven-year-old Cocker Spaniel and Kayak is a one-year-old Siberian Husky.
Bailey is an 11-year old, spayed female buff-colored cocker spaniel. She was well-loved for most of her life and was part of a young family. Due to extraordinary family circumstances she was rehomed several years ago, and the new adopters did not provide her with things every loved pet needs; a proper diet, annual vet visits, nail trims and ear cleanings. She eventually ended up lost on the streets, fending for herself. She was found by someone in north Phoenix, and her luck changed when she found her way to Lucky Dog Rescue.
We had to play some catch-up to get her back to good health. She received a dental, was treated for chronic ear infections, and she began treatment for Valley Fever (for this, she takes medication daily but does not have symptoms and the condition is not affecting her at all).
She is currently in a foster home where she lives with a family with young children and another large dog – she gets along with everyone! Bailey is so very sweet – she just wants to be loved and pampered. After her rough last few years, this beautiful girl deserves to find her forever home! She will require regular ear cleanings (as do ALL cocker spaniels), and her Valley Fever meds will need to be continued until such time as a veterinarian says they are no longer necessary.
Bailey would make a wonderful family member for someone who is looking for a dog who is happy-go-lucky, reasonably active but mostly cherishes cuddle time with her family. She enjoys the company of other friendly dogs, and she would most enjoy an all-adult home, or a home with older children. She would benefit from a healthy diet and back yard playtime or daily short walks.
Her adoption fee is $250.
Are you ready for a fun-loving and gorgeous teenager? Kayak is in need of an active family who will provide positive training and much-needed exercise. At barely a year old, he has a lot to learn. But we have found him to be super-smart and responsive to leadership.
Kayak must go to a family with breed experience and the time to give him the attention and exercise he needs. A daily jogging partner would be ideal. He has an abundance of enthusiasm, but lacks manners. Older kids only please, and a dog sibling of similar size and energy would be his dream situation.
This kid was a stray turned in to the county shelter. He did not do well there, but is thriving now. Kayak is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines, and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $400.
