I have the opportunity to be a plastic surgeon, a\u00a0businessman, a teacher, a coach and mentor. I feel honored that patients trust me\u00a0with their care and allow me to be a part of a very personal journey and\u00a0transformation. I am part of a specialty that allows me to feed my desire to build and\u00a0create businesses and teams of people that can help others. I enjoy both the clinical\u00a0and surgical sides of being a plastic surgeon, as well as the ability to educate people\u00a0on our specialty and the specific plan that will achieve their goals as a patient. The\u00a0business of aesthetics is exciting and it is amazing to be in a place where I can help\u00a0set the standard for excellence in our trade.<\/p>\n I was born…<\/strong> in Wurzburg, Germany. My parents got married in Chicago in 1970 and\u00a0immediately moved abroad. My father taught band and science on an Army base in\u00a0Wurzburg and I was born while they lived there. Unfortunately, they returned to the\u00a0States when I was six months old, so I did not get the benefits of growing up in a\u00a0foreign country.<\/p>\n My favorite thing about Arizona…<\/strong> is the beautiful weather and the ability to enjoy\u00a0being outdoors year-round.<\/p>\n I am listening to…<\/strong> Florida Georgia Line and Deadmau5. Weird, eh?<\/p>\n My family is…<\/strong> the strongest pillar in my life and really is the foundation of who I am as\u00a0a person. My wife is my best friend and biggest supporter as we continue to\u00a0experience life. My parents have been the foundation for me as I have grown up and\u00a0have encouraged me to find joy wherever my life leads me. I am fortunate to have\u00a0my parents live close (Mesa) so that we can be with them as often as our busy\u00a0schedules allow. My brother lives in Seattle and although I do not get to see him as\u00a0often, he also is a strong factor in my life and I admire him tremendously.<\/p>\n If I could have dinner with anyone it would be\u2026<\/strong> me on my 80th birthday. I would ask\u00a0myself advice about what is really important to worry about versus all the little\u00a0things that I worry about daily that really don\u2019t make a bit of difference for the\u00a0future.<\/p>\n One thing I cannot live without is…\u00a0<\/strong>music. I listen to music at home, in the car, in the\u00a0operating room, golfing, etc.<\/p>\n When I was younger…\u00a0<\/strong>I wanted to be the best at whatever I did. I had a difficult time\u00a0deciding on \u201cwhat I wanted to be when I grow up.\u201d At one point, I thought it would\u00a0be fun to be in the golf industry, but I just felt that I wasn\u2019t \u201cgood enough\u201d at golf to\u00a0make a career out of it.<\/p>\n I am inspired by…\u00a0<\/strong>people that are positive, open-minded, generous, and goal focused,\u00a0while squeezing every drop of enjoyment out of each day.<\/p>\n The one person who motivates me is…<\/strong> myself. I have always had an inner drive to\u00a0achieve. I know it is clich\u00e9, but I really do want to be the best at whatever I set my\u00a0mind to.<\/p>\n If I could change anything in the world\u2026\u00a0<\/strong>this question was too hard for me to\u00a0answer. There are too many amazing things about our world and the people that\u00a0thrive within.
