at St. Joseph\u2019s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.<\/p>\n

My favorite thing about Arizona is\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

our beautiful desert and weather. During the nine months out of the year that it\u2019s not a convection oven outside, Phoenix is fabulous for those of us who love it outdoors. Whether it\u2019s going for a ten mile run or a forty mile bike ride, I love it that can get out and do the things I love.<\/p>\n

I’m listening to\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

live music. I have recently attended concerts in Portland to see Cold Play, Washington to see Maroon 5, Denver to see the Goo Goo Dolls, LA to see Train and Imagine Dragons in Phoenix. I love the energy that come from the live performances.<\/p>\n

My family\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

is the most important thing in my life. I am so proud of my five kids and enjoy them immensely. I have had the privilege to travel with all of my kids to Hawaii three times, all of the Caribbean Islands, all over Mexico and every beach in California.<\/p>\n

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Pat Tillman. He\u2019s an inspiration and a great American.<\/strong><\/p>\n

One thing I cannot live without would be\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

my phone. So much of what I do now is somehow connected or goes through my phone.<\/p>\n

When I was younger, I wanted to be\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

an NBA player.<\/p>\n

I’m inspired by\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

stories of random acts of self-sacrifice and courage. In my research on Defector in our Midst and the follow up novel I have come across so many beautiful stories.<\/p>\n

The one person who motivates me is\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Vince Flynn. He couldn\u2019t get a publisher to bite on his first book so he went around the Minneapolis area and got the bookstores to take his book. Because of his perseverance and belief he eventually went on to become a multiple New York Times bestseller.<\/p>\n

If I could change anything in the world, it would be\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

the belief that extremists have that anyone not part of their belief must die.<\/p>\n

The perfect day would be\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

a ten mile run at the crack of dawn, followed by a phone call from my publisher that my next book had just made the New York Times Bestseller list, followed by a day at the beach with my family and an evening of riding roller coasters at Six Flags.<\/p>\n

My first job was with\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

an accounting firm in downtown Phoenix. After six months I would go home and bang my head against the wall while ranting, \u201cAccounting? Tom, what were you thinking!\u201d. Needless to say, I didn\u2019t last very long in the accounting profession.<\/p>\n

My favorite escape\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

thus far has been to Alaska. I can\u2019t wait to take my kids there.<\/p>\n

My life\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n

has been blessed with five fabulous kids, a great career building beautiful dream homes for people, and an opportunity to travel the world and pursue my passion in writing.<\/p>\n

I’m currently working on\u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n
