AZF: What is your \u201clife motto\u201d?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCreativity is my specialty. I was born outside the box.\u201d and \u201cShe built businesses, raised babies, chased big dreams, and created a life she loved along the way.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Honestly, no. I didn\u2019t grow up saying, \u201cI want to be an entrepreneur.\u201d What I did know was that I struggled in traditional environments. School was hard for me because I wasn\u2019t someone who thrived sitting still, memorizing information, or following a set path. I\u2019ve always learned by doing. The School of Life was my classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I learned through trying things, failing, figuring it out, and doing it again. Looking back, I realize I wasn\u2019t a great rule follower, but I was always a creator. I loved solving problems, bringing ideas to life, and finding better ways to do things. The moment I realized entrepreneurship was the right path for me was when I discovered I could create something from nothing. I didn\u2019t need someone to hand me an opportunity \u2013 I could build one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I may lack in rule-following, I make up for in vision. I\u2019m good at seeing possibilities, building teams, and helping people become the best versions of themselves. One of the most rewarding parts of entrepreneurship has been watching people grow alongside the company. Ten years ago, Dang Fine started with a big idea, a garage, and one employee. Today, we\u2019ve grown into a 14,000-square-foot warehouse, a team of 35, and a company that creates experiences across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entrepreneurship gave me a place where creativity, leadership, and action mattered more than fitting into a box. And that\u2019s when I realized I wasn\u2019t meant to follow someone else\u2019s path \u2013 I was meant to build my own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: How do you feel best supported?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I feel most supported when people trust me to do what I do best while also being willing to jump in when needed. As an entrepreneur, business owner, mom, and creative, I carry a lot of responsibility. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t necessarily need someone to solve my problems, but I do appreciate people who are proactive, dependable, and willing to take ownership. Nothing feels more supportive than knowing I can count on someone to follow through without being micromanaged. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Personally, I feel supported through encouragement, honesty, and people who believe in my vision \u2013 even when it\u2019s a little crazy. Some of the best things I\u2019ve built started as ideas that didn\u2019t make sense to everyone else. I also appreciate people who celebrate the wins, big and small. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As entrepreneurs, we\u2019re often focused on the next goal, so having people around me who acknowledge the progress and remind me how far I\u2019ve come means a lot. At the end of the day, trust, reliability, and genuine belief in what I\u2019m building make me feel the most supported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What motivates me to keep going is that I genuinely believe in what I\u2019m building. As an entrepreneur, challenges are guaranteed. There will always be setbacks, hard seasons, and moments when things don\u2019t go according to plan. But I\u2019ve never been someone who sits around doubting myself or waiting for things to happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have a strong sense of faith, a clear vision, and an unstoppable drive to achieve the goals I set for myself. When obstacles come up, I don\u2019t see them as reasons to quit \u2013 I see them as problems to solve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve always believed that if I want something, it\u2019s my responsibility to go after it. I don\u2019t wait for opportunities, permission, or perfect timing. I run toward the things I want and trust that I\u2019ll figure out the rest along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What keeps me going is knowing how far I\u2019ve already come. I\u2019ve watched an idea grow from a garage startup into a thriving business, and every challenge along the way has taught me something valuable. That journey has given me confidence that no matter what comes next, I\u2019ll find a way through it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faith, determination, and the belief that anything is possible with enough work and persistence \u2013 that\u2019s what keeps me moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My perfect Saturday morning is slow, simple, and completely unplanned. The kids wake up, we grab donuts and coffee, and then we just see where the day takes us. No schedule, no rushing from one thing to the next, and no pressure to be anywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love spontaneity and adventure, so my favorite days are the ones where we decide on a whim to explore a new neighborhood, find a park we\u2019ve never been to, take a day trip, or stumble across something unexpected. Some of our best family memories have come from plans we never made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, the perfect Saturday is a mix of laughter, messy kids, good food, and the freedom to chase whatever sounds fun in the moment. The destination doesn\u2019t matter nearly as much as the adventure and the people I\u2019m sharing it with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What\u2019s one piece of advice you\u2019d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start before you\u2019re ready. So many people spend years waiting for the perfect timing, the perfect plan, the perfect amount of money, or the confidence that everything will work out. The truth is, most entrepreneurs are figuring it out as they go. Don\u2019t let fear of failure stop you from taking action. Some of the biggest lessons you\u2019ll learn won\u2019t come from a book, a class, or a mentor, they\u2019ll come from doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019d also tell them to stop comparing their beginning to someone else\u2019s middle. Every successful business started as an idea, a side hustle, or a dream that nobody else could see yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trust yourself. Be willing to work harder than most people. Stay curious. Keep learning. And when things get hard, remember that persistence will take you further than talent ever will. Most importantly, bet on yourself. If you\u2019re willing to put in the work, stay adaptable, and keep showing up, you\u2019d be surprised how far you can go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I started with a garage, one employee, and a vision. Today, that vision has grown into something bigger than I ever imagined; not because I had all the answers, but because I was willing to start before I was ready and figure it out along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeing team members develop their careers, step into leadership roles, and contribute to something bigger than themselves is incredibly fulfilling. Entrepreneurship isn\u2019t always easy, but there\u2019s something special about looking back at where you started and realizing how far you\u2019ve come. Watching Dang Fine evolve from a garage concept into the company it is today reminds me that some of the best things start with a vision, a willingness to take risks, and a commitment to keep showing up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, that\u2019s the magic of entrepreneurship: building something meaningful, creating opportunities for others, and knowing the journey is still just getting started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
