AZF: What is your \u201clife motto?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD:<\/strong> \u201cDon\u2019t wish it were easier, wish you were better\u201d \u2013 Jim Rohn, entrepreneur and author. When I was younger, I just wanted a smooth, easy road. Now, in my forties, I\u2019ve come to understand that life isn’t about avoiding the bumps; it’s about becoming strong enough to navigate them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a mom to a beautiful, brave 5-year-old son who happens to have over 30 anaphylactic food allergies, I try to live by this motto every day. I\u2019m constantly working to become a stronger, more resilient version of myself\u2014not only for me, but to set an example for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD:<\/strong> Like many employees-turned-entrepreneurs, I was raised to get a degree and climb the corporate ladder. After earning my MBA and landing what I thought was my \u201cdream job,\u201d I expected to feel fulfilled \u2013 but something felt off. Deep down, I always had the desire to build something of my own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tipping point came when I watched both of my parents \u2013 two incredibly hardworking, dedicated mechanical engineers \u2013 lose their jobs on the same day. That experience shattered my belief that a traditional job was the safest route. It made me realize that if I wanted something truly secure and fulfilling, I needed to create it myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: How do you feel best supported?   <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD:<\/strong> When I\u2019m well-rested, well-hydrated, and nourished \u2013 with a freshly brewed cup of coffee in hand!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD:<\/strong> The women I serve. I know there are so many talented women out there with brilliant ideas, powerful stories, and life-changing strategies \u2013 women who deserve to have their voices heard in the pages of a book, but don\u2019t know how to bring those books to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s what drives me. I do it for the woman with so much to give, who just needs a little guidance to get it out into the world. The rollercoaster ride of entrepreneurship is absolutely worth it when I get to make that magical phone call: \u201cCongratulations! You\u2019re now a bestselling author.\u201d I\u2019ll endure every high and low for the joy of witnessing that transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD: <\/strong>I wake up naturally around 8 a.m., with sunlight streaming through the windows. Downstairs, I hear my husband and son playing, their laughter filling the house. I smile, stretch, and run a bubble bath. After giving my son a big kiss and my husband a warm hug, I make a fresh cup of coffee and bring it back upstairs to enjoy while I soak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I use that time to journal, reflect, and gently ease into the day. Once I\u2019m out, I slip into my favorite floral top, do my makeup and hair, and head down to the kitchen, where my son and I whip up our signature \u201cmagic waffles\u201d (allergy-free, of course!). After breakfast, we take a stroll around the neighborhood, wave hello to our neighbors, and chat about the fun weekend ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What\u2019s one piece of advice you\u2019d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD: <\/strong>I might be a little biased, but I\u2019d say write a book. It\u2019s a noisy world out there, and writing a book gives you instant credibility, authority, and confidence. As a new entrepreneur, it sets you apart from the start. A book becomes a powerful asset \u2013 one that pays dividends for years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It positions you as an expert in your industry, and the process of writing it helps clarify your own strategies and knowledge, ultimately making you a better entrepreneur and leader for the people you serve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD: <\/strong>What excites me most is the fact that I get to create something out of nothing. I have the power to take an idea and shape it into something real, something that didn\u2019t exist before. For me, that something is a book. Taking thoughts and stories and turning them into physical pages feels incredibly empowering. There\u2019s nothing quite like holding a book in your hands and knowing it all started as an idea in your head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
