Meet Caprice Perry, communications strategist for Caprice Perry Consulting, providing strategic direction for brands and helping solve communication-related challenges.

“I help leaders create remarkable brand experiences. Whether I\u2019m teasing out a brand\u2019s positioning, defining messaging, overseeing creative or fine tuning copy, I help create clarity and strengthen an organization\u2019s communications. Each project differs, and I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to passionate teams as an advisor or fractional communication strategist.”<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What is your \u201clife motto?\u201d<\/strong>
CP: <\/strong>A theme I\u2019ve come to embrace is \u2013 prioritize what brings you joy. Life gets a whole lot better, for myself and those around me, when I focus on what brings joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?<\/strong>
CP: <\/strong>I never had a grand plan to become an entrepreneur, and there was no single moment of realization. Some days, it feels more like entrepreneurship chose me! Looking back though, I realize that I was a serial entrepreneur as a kid. I created and sold handmade stationery, pet products, jewelry, baked goods, a family newsletter… I even charged my parents for massage services and tickets to exclusive at-home dance performances set to Rolling Stones songs. (That last one still makes me laugh!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: How do you feel best supported?<\/strong>
CP: <\/strong>I\u2019ve learned how important it is to be in community. A dose of inspiration, encouragement or insight will surface through conversations and experiences \u2013 whether with fellow business leaders or family and friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?<\/strong>\u00a0
CP: <\/strong>The beauty and pleasures of life light me up, so I intentionally carve out time to engage with all the richness that surrounds me. One day, it could be the luxury of sitting in the park in the middle of a workday. Another, it may be deeply enjoying listening to a new album or savoring a conversation with a friend. The list goes on\u2026 but ultimately that appreciation of life itself keeps me motivated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF:<\/strong>\u00a0Describe your perfect Saturday morning.<\/strong>
CP: <\/strong>You\u2019ll find me at the farmers market! For many years, I\u2019ve enjoyed sharing this Saturday morning ritual with my mom. I treasure getting to stroll outdoors for the freshest ingredients and connect with my local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What\u2019s one piece of advice you\u2019d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?<\/strong>
CP: <\/strong>While you can learn much from others, no one else holds all the answers. Learn to cultivate the wisdom within, and know that there is no right or perfect path you need to find to proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?<\/strong>
CP: <\/strong>I love getting to write my own job description. The rich sense of freedom and creativity is a gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Foundress<\/a> is a creative community of female entrepreneurs established by Coley Arnold and Lindsey Holt, owners of Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market.
