Ebony Green, M.S., CCC-SLP\u00a0<\/strong>is the founder and CEO of the SPEAK Center for Language and Learning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe SPEAK Center for Language and Learning is a comprehensive clinic catering to both pediatric and adult populations, offering a range of therapeutic services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, and physical therapy for individuals with developmental disabilities. Alongside therapy, we extend support through respite care, habilitation, and attendant care.\u00a0\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What is your \u201clife motto<\/strong>\u201c
EG:\u00a0<\/strong>In the words of the late R&B legend Aaliyah, “If at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?<\/strong>
EG:\u00a0<\/strong>I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, but I didn’t think I would start so soon in my career as a speech-language pathologist. I had a pivotal moment in my career which led me to pursue entrepreneurship much earlier than I anticipated. It was the best decision I could’ve made. I knew this was the right path for me when the work I was doing didn’t feel like work!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: How do you feel best supported?<\/strong>
EG:\u00a0<\/strong>I feel best supported when others get excited about my vision! Recently, we decided to make our impact global! My team was excited and supported my vision to provide speech therapy in an international country. It was a life-changing experience for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?<\/strong>
EG:<\/strong>\u00a0My motivation is knowing that I was put on this Earth to create! Entrepreneurship is creative work. I was meant to make something bigger than myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.<\/strong>
EG:<\/strong>\u00a0My perfect Saturday morning involves doing whatever I decide to do with my time. Time is a luxury that we don’t have enough of; especially if you are an entrepreneur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF:\u00a0What\u2019s one piece of advice you\u2019d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?<\/strong>
EG:<\/strong>\u00a0There are so many things I would say to a young entrepreneur just starting out. However, my main piece of advice is to be original. Originality is going to get you further than any other skill. Your uniqueness is what will attract the right customers and employees. The money will follow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Foundress<\/a> is a creative community of female entrepreneurs established by Coley Arnold and Lindsey Holt, owners of Junk in the Trunk Vintage Market. The women-led networking group currently has over 120 members who receive exclusive access to mentorship from experienced female entrepreneurs and industry leaders; community gatherings that feature expert speakers and the opportunity to connect with like-minded women; as well as monthly Mastermind Groups where members can brainstorm and collaborate together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
