AZF: What excites you most about being an entrepreneur?<\/strong>
JJ:<\/strong> Learning & Growth! It might be a bit on the nose, but I love learning. Entrepreneurship is like growth on steroids. You always need to be working on yourself, your team, and the business to reach more people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What is your \u201clife motto\u201d?<\/strong>
JJ: <\/strong>Be kind, always.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: Did you always know that you wanted to be entrepreneur? If not, when did you realize that it was the right path right for you?<\/strong>
JJ: <\/strong>When I got into entrepreneurship, I had no idea it was a path that existed. I had no one in my life, close or distant, who I personally knew with a business. When I realized the freedom it would bring me \u2013 financially and emotionally \u2013 I decided to go for it! Plus, it meant I got to be a stay-at-home dog mom, which is totally a dream come true!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: How do you feel best supported?<\/strong>
JJ: <\/strong>1. Taking tasks off my plate
This might be in response to the current season in business growth I\u2019m having, but literally finishing tasks on my to do list is super helpful. My partner who picks up avocados while he\u2019s out. My best friend who took care of the Show Notes for the podcast. It took them 2 extra minutes in their day, but the brain space it clears up for me is very valuable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Gaining clarity through conversation
The more our business grows, the more decisions there are to make on any given day. What to do? Where to promote? Who to reach out to? The decision fatigue is real. Getting clarity on priorities and processes cuts down on the time required to make all of those decisions. So anyone who asks questions while reserving judgement is being super supportive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What motivates you to keep going amidst of the challenges that come with being an entrepreneur?<\/strong>
JJ:<\/strong> If I\u2019m feeling TOO challenged, like feeling as if I want to quit, it\u2019s a signal to me that I\u2019m not taking care of myself. I\u2019ve burnt out more times than I\u2019d like to admit. I can identify that, \u201cOMG I just want to blow up my business.\u201d feeling as the opportunity to take a break, eat a good meal, take myself to Pilates, and just re-energize. Those are the moments when I cancel calls that aren\u2019t actually that important, bump meetings when I can, and re-arrange due dates. I think that as entrepreneurs, we\u2019re naturally motivated. It\u2019s the overwhelm and overwork that gets in the way of that natural motivation from shining. So when you calm the overwhelm and quit the overwork, you\u2019ll find you have the motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: Describe your perfect Saturday morning.<\/strong>
JJ: <\/strong>I love relaxing Saturday mornings around the house \u2013 hygge style. I love a slow wake up before hopping into some comfy clothes to walk the dog. Waffles for breakfast while an indie station plays. I like to putter around and tidy the house with some candles for ambiance. Slow, easygoing, quiet. It\u2019s a nice shift after a busy week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AZF: What\u2019s one piece of advice you\u2019d give to a young entrepreneur who is just starting out?<\/strong>
JJ:<\/strong> Make it easy to celebrate! Celebrate the small wins (and the big wins)\u2026 but especially the small wins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes your inputs, not just the outputs. Did you hit your engagement goal today by connecting with 5 people? Celebrate that! Don\u2019t wait until you \u201cget the client\u201d to celebrate. Celebrating the work that you put in along the way (the input) is a hack to get to the result (the output) faster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
