Meet, Ashley LeMieux a 26 year old ASU graduate who has found passion in improving the lives of at risk youth in the Phoenix area. She launched a business called The Shine Project last year that employs at-risk youth and raises money to send them to college. She writes a daily blog called\u00a0myshineproject.com<\/a>, and lives downtown with her husband and dog. Ashley’s life motto is, “Make it happen.” Read how she finished these 20 sentences.<\/p>\n

I was born\u2026<\/h3>\n

in San Diego, California<\/p>\n

My favorite thing about Arizona\u2026<\/h3>\n

is downtown Phoenix. Seriously, this city has livened up the past few years and it’s so fun to be in the middle of everything going on! Oh, and it doesn’t snow. I don’t function in the cold.<\/p>\n

I’m listening to\u2026<\/h3>\n

country music on Pandora. If you don’t like country music yet, I will be the one to convert you.<\/p>\n

My family\u2026<\/h3>\n

is the funnest, craziest bunch of people and I absolutely love them.<\/p>\n

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be\u2026<\/h3>\n

This is a really hard one for me to answer. I love so many different types of people, and honestly, I love hearing life stories as to why people are the way they are. So, currently I’d have to chose Luis Taylor. The man who was just released from Arizona prison after being wrongly accused the past 41 years. What a tale of hope and forgiveness that he has to tell, I’m sure it would inspire me for the rest of my life.<\/p>\n

One thing I cannot live without\u2026<\/h3>\n

my lap top. So cliche, but this thing has my entire life on it!<\/p>\n

When I was younger, I wanted to be\u2026<\/h3>\n

a writer. I used to be really shy so I got really good at writing because I would jot down how I felt about everything. Now I have a blog that’s read by thousands and thousands of people across the world, but I’m not so shy anymore.<\/p>\n

I’m inspired by\u2026<\/h3>\n

people. Looking at how people interact, how they feel, what they do inspires me. I believe that we’re all connected to each other, and that we’re responsible to help our neighbor if they’re going through a hard time. People inspire me to come up with ways to better help the world as I see their needs and try to figure out what needs to be done to meet them.<\/p>\n

The one person who motivates me is\u2026<\/h3>\n

the students that work for me. If I fail, then I fail them, and I will absolutely not allow that to happen.<\/p>\n

If I could change anything in the world, it would be\u2026<\/h3>\n

injustice. It hurts me when things are not fair, and when people are born into hard circumstances that they can’t control. I want to help change this by teaching more hope, self-reliance, and helping people realize they can do great things in their lives no matter the lot they’ve been handed.<\/p>\n

The perfect day would be\u2026<\/h3>\n

honestly, I live it every day! I get to wake up to my sweet husband, and work all day doing a “job” that fulfills me in every way possible.<\/p>\n

My first job was\u2026<\/h3>\n

a banquet server at Arizona Foothills Golf Course<\/p>\n

My favorite escape\u2026<\/h3>\n

anywhere that has a beach.<\/p>\n

My life\u2026<\/h3>\n

is a gift and blessing from God.<\/p>\n

I’m currently working on\u2026<\/h3>\n

getting our company (www.theshineproject.com<\/a>) ready to be on a major national TV show. So much recognition for our amazing at risk youth we employ!<\/p>\n

When only one of the windows in the car is rolled down and it makes the most\u00a0horrific noise in the world!<\/span><\/p>\n
