A typical day in my life includes\u2026 <\/strong>getting the two last of our kids living at home up and ready for school; getting to workout by 6:30 am; getting to work by 7:45 am.  (My life is blessed because I have wonderful employees and patients. It has not been easy these last two years for any of us, but I cannot imagine the world without each one of them.) <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I typically finish late nowadays because with spring being so awful for pollen sufferers, I am typically busy with new patients then I work on the business itself.  This balance is super fun and I learn something new regularly.  I make dinner for our family and while we try to eat together most nights, it can be a little crazy with Alex\u2019s soccer and Katie\u2019s work at Panera bread.  Sometimes we play \u201cFast Track\u201d or just chat.  I read to Alex (we are almost done with the \u201cI am Number Four\u201d series) and then I hang out with Katie and her two cats (which anyone who reads my blog will know are our \u201cCovid\u201d cats).  Phil and I watch TV.  At the moment, we are watching \u201cInventing Anna\u201d and just finished \u201c1883\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was born\u2026 <\/strong>in Illinois.  Great people! Terrible weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My favorite thing about Arizona\u2026<\/strong> the weather is awesome.  So great to walk outside on the worse weather day of the year!  It never gets old to hear about our weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My family\u2026<\/strong> is so amazing.  I am fortunate to know such wonderful people and am so glad they belong to me:  My husband, Phil, my kids, (Katie, 17, Kately, 16, and Alex, 12 at home and Brice, 27, Brigham, 24, Bridge, 20, Bronson, 22, are out of the house).  Brice attends Thomas Jefferson and is working on a degree in music education; Brigham is an engineer for Northrup Grumman; Bronson has his own small business; and Bridge is finishing his first year at the Air Force Academy).  My parents, Al and Diane, still live back in Illinois as does my sister, Laura with her husband Ed and their 4 children, Joey, Jason, Mathew, and Jason.  My brother, Al, Rachel and their 2 children, Isla and Al, live in South Carolina.  I have the most wonderful in-laws, Cheryl and Wayne, who live in Hastings, Nebraska and used to live in Franklin.  I have great sisters-in-law, Charlene, who is lives in Colorado and Colette, who still lives in Franklin.  Family get togethers involve games, lots of food, and lots of laughs.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I could have dinner with anyone, it would be\u2026<\/strong> my husband, Phil Bach, because he is my best friend and hero. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One thing I cannot live without\u2026<\/strong> my children.  They make me smile or laugh every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was younger, I wanted to be\u2026<\/strong> a veterinarian.  Who doesn\u2019t love animals?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m inspired by\u2026<\/strong> my Dad, who is the most wonderful, good human being that I have ever known. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m currently working on\u2026 <\/strong>editing with my fantastic editor, Bonnie, on my first book, \u201cWhat\u2019s eating your kids:  A parent\u2019s guide to food allergies, intolerance, and toxicity\u201d, at least that is the working title and writing my second book about allergies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Wendt earned Bachelor of Science degrees in biochemistry and biology honors from the University of Illinois, a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from Vanderbilt University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. She completed residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke\u2019s Medical Center and an allergy and immunology fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, both in Chicago.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In private practice since 2005, Dr. Wendt has published a great deal of research. She has received the American Medical Association Physician\u2019s Recognition Award, a Patient\u2019s Choice Award and is noted as one of America\u2019s Top Physicians. Dr. Wendt is former President of the Arizona Allergy and Asthma Society.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A native of Chicago, Dr. Wendt is married to a Nebraskan. They have seven children, ages 7 to 22. She enjoys fencing, boating, water skiing, scuba diving, and travel. She\u2019s also taken courses in grape growing and winemaking. In her free time, Dr. Wendt enjoys serving with multiple charitable organizations including Global Orphan Project and Family Promise.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Meet Dr.
